Summer Camp Information - Please Read

Scouters: 

I know everyone is getting excited and asking questions about Summer Camp 2020 already!! It truly is one of the best camping experiences for the scouts! I'm attaching some information regarding Camp Keowa at Ten Mile River (Narrowsburg, NY) - Week of July 5th through July 11th.

Cost:  $440 if Paid In Full by April 29th

Deposit: $45 due by March 18th 

Campership/Assistance: Information sent in separate email; Please see Karen Bianchi or Jim Strempek with questions or if you are in need of financial assistance; Must also apply through NY Council Website (deadline 3/31/20)

Additional Information:

(1) Medical Forms - The entire medical form (Parts A, B & C) must be completed and signed by a physician.  In addition, there is a TMR Medical form that must be signed as well.  Both forms are in this email. Please provide 2 copies of all pages and 2 copies (front and back) of the insurance card.  ALL scouts and ALL leaders must have this on file if you are spending the night at camp. No exceptions.  The form is good for one year and must be resubmitted each year.  Don't wait to fill these out.  These forms are due by June 10th. Please turn them in as soon as you have them ready.  

(2) Merit Badge Choices - Attached is the merit badge schedule for Camp Keowa.  All merit badge selections must be approved and discussed with me prior to finalizing. I will meet with scouts as they have their selections ready each Wednesday. Please note all Scouts are required to FILL their morning (9am - noon) with merit badge classes and should try to schedule at least one afternoon badge session.  

(3) Merit Badge Selection Sheet - This is the only form we will accept for enrolling in merit badges.  This must be filled out with first and second choices.  I will review and sign off on this sheet with the scouts.  

(4) Merit badge prerequisites - Please review. Some merit badges have a rank or age restriction.  I will review all merit badge choices with the Scout prior to signing up to ensure the scout is at the right level or the badge is appropriate.  

Merit Badge selection site opens on April 1st for me to enroll the scouts (and try to get their first choices).  Once the scout has the $45 deposit paid and the Merit Badge Selection Sheet filled out (and he reviews it with me), I can begin the online enrollment process for each scout.   

More information will follow as it gets closer, and we will hold a parent and scout meeting for all attending.
