Merit Badges

Good afternoon Scouts. The following email is from Mr. and Mrs. Hitchcock regarding Scouts with incomplete merit badges through them. Mr. and Mrs. Hitchcock will not be renewing their merit badge counselor status as of June 1. If you wish to earn the badges you started with them, you must reach out as per the information below and work on it over the next month. Mr. and Mrs. Hitchcock will review the work or meet virtually with you to review and complete.

If you do not complete the badge with them, you will need to find another counselor who is willing to work with you to complete the badge, should you wish to do so. 

Please remember, when you reach out to copy a parent or guardian on the email. All virtual meetings must remain with two deep leadership and a parent must be available to be with you on the video, if you meet in that manner.

We thank Mr. and Mrs. Hitchcock for their dedication and offering merit badges over the years to our troop.

The boys can feel free to email us (making sure to CC a parent) over the next few weeks to set up a time for a Zoom meeting or, if the requirement can be emailed, they can email it directly.  My email address is chri...@itisakeeper.com.  Our YPT expires at the end of May so I'm assuming this all needs to be wrapped up by 5/31.  

I'll keep track of their progress in a spreadsheet and update the blue cards when we're able to.

For those with incomplete cooking - the outstanding requirements can be done without camping.  The only requirement that's outstanding for some of the boys that's related to camping is creating a shopping list and showing the amount needed to prepare and serve for each meal.  

What I can do for that requirement is give each Scout a different meal that we usually have on a camping trip and have them prepare a shopping list for 10 scouts.  We can then put those lists in a binder and use them when planning for upcoming camping trips so it's easier to know how much to buy.  Just a thought.
