Morning fellow divers, I have been asked if anyone could assist a film company at Llandegfedd rez in filming pike! Has anyone dived it before? In fact is it diveable? The filming will take place over the winter months, a rib would be required, I have pointed out we are not for profit or commercial gain but a donation to club funds to cover petrol and back gas etc would be forthcoming, an ideal way of promoting the clubs and bsac? Is there anyone interested? Has anyone got any ideas etc.

I dived Llandegfedd about 10 years ago, I looked it up in my logbook and I'd written "Appalling visibility, less than a metre, made worse by getting near the very silty bottom" I'm guessing I could have been there at a particularly bad time of year? November? But good luck in filming in that.

Evening David and fellow divers, Newport BS-AC and many clubs in the area have dived Llandegfedd Res for many years WASAC has lots of details that I provided quite some time ago. I have been the focus point for clubs wishing to use the res for many years, there are quite a few rules that change between summer and winter conditions, the max depth is 32 meters (with special permission) most areas are between 18 and 20 m, diving is confined to several areas at the access end of the res, bottom is peat based and very muddy, viz varies between 0 and 6m (usually 2m). Paperwork requirements are a Risk assessment, Dive Plan with diver grades stated, the usual safety cover, equipment and visability items such as SMB's etc, this pre requested to the Rangers.
Please contact me if you need any maps, previous risk assessments etc.
