Our last outing is upon us.  I have arranged for a combination camping and astronomy outing on Mount Weather in Bluemont, VA.  We will be camping at Blue Ridge State Park at the top of the mountain.  The academic dean from Holy Family Academy (Ian, Stephen and Anthony's school), Mr. Thomas Cole,  is an avid amateur astronomer and has graciously agreed to give us a tour of the November sky from the top of Mt. Weather.

 

Details:

 

Departure:  10:00 AM, Saturday 09 Nov at the troop trailer

Return:  08:30 AM, Sunday 10 Nov at the troop trailer

Outing Fee:  $15

Special Equipment:  None needed - telescopes, star charts optional

Adults:  Mr. Sheedy and ?????

Food Plan:  Depends on attendance

 

If we want to camp overnight, I am still in need of another adult. Mr. Cole will not be able to remain overnight with us.  Meal planning and other outing logistics will be covered at the next troop meeting on Monday 04 Nov.  If you do plan to attend the outing but cannot make the troop meeting, please let me know via return email of your intentions so we can make sure you are on the roster for meal and vehicle planning purposes.
