Many thanks for organizing this….  Suggest letting the boys decide on how to divide the $$$.  Usually works out without friction.   Need an adult with them at all times …just as a bystander sitting in a lounge chair , reading a good book…Ha.!  I have approx. another 150 cards that have not been claimed that we can sell, and I can get more…   Suggest also, someone making some signs for publicity and will need a table, chairs and cash box at each vendor…Let me know how I can help…Dan

Hi folks,

Leslie & I have talked about organizing a time for the boys to sell the Boy Scout Camp cards. Leslie contacted the Food Lion (near Magic Mart) and they told her to talk to manager in AM because the request had to go through their corporate office. Leslie will call in AM.

Leslie also knows manager at Dollar Tree and says that we could probably set-up there if Food Lion doesn't work. We also thought of looking into McDonald's and Subway since they both have coupons on Boy Scout Camp Card. There's the Dublin Walmart with the Subway inside. Leslie also has connections at Food City to do it outside there (even though there isn't a coupon fro Food City, there'd be a lot of foot traffic).

We also wondered about whether we have the boys who work selling cards split the credit (group effort and each person gets part, for example, $100 raised with 4 boys present and working, then each boy gets $25 credit).

The other idea is to provide the place for boys to sell and each boy sells their own and keeps track of their own. So if Allen knows and sells five cards to five folks that he knows and Blake only sells two cards because he doesn't know as many people as Blake, then that would just be business and how it goes.

We are trying to work it out and get a place, so the boys can sell camp cards this Saturday after the Draper Mountain Clean-Up.

So, please let us know by "replying to all" the following:

We'd like your input and help....many hands make light work!!!

1) Would you call one of the places above to see if we can set-up table outside with Boy Scouts selling their camp cards? Leslie is working on Food Lion.

2) Which way should we set-up for the boys to sell (sharing profits equally for equal work or each boy is on his own to sell? Or do we have the boys vote which way to go?

3) Will you be able to help this Saturday and/or another time (if we do this more than once) to be there with boys while they sell camp cards?

4) Any other ideas and/or suggestions?

We just wanted to get things started and have all of us parents work together to make this happen.

Thanks,

Debbie & Leslie
aka Blake's Mom & Allen's Mom
