Attention Eligible
High Adventure Scouts!
We (Troop 704 – Blacksburg, VA) are going to Philmont in 2015, depart July 16th and return July 31st. There are 5 of us going from Troop 704 (2 Leaders and 3
scouts). We are still in need of 2 more scouts to fill our crew of 7. We can potentially add more (up to a crew size of 12). Adult leaders are also welcome to go as long as we maintain a majority of youth. Youth adults (age 18-20) can be counted as youth
when considering the majority ruling, but they must have Youth Protection Training and be registered as an adult within your troop.
Scoutmasters, please share this invitation with your eligible scouts and only to those boys you feel are up for a 60 to 80 mile trek and
that meet your approval of the trip. We are looking for scouts that want to be a part of higher adventure.
This is a first come first serve invitation, so please act quickly if know of someone that meets the requirements and wants to go. These slots will likely be filled quickly.
Cost for this adventure is around $1500… $855 for the camp + travel expenses. Our troop has already begun payments, so we ask that you be prepared to make a deposit of $477.50 with our troop now and we will collect the remainder later.
