Hi Sydney,
I hope this email finds you well. I'm sorry we weren't able to work out the networking coffee chats, midterms kept a lot our students pretty busy (myself included). I'm writing to you today to gauge your interest in participating in an upcoming event our BSU is hosting.
On Friday April 26th, the HGSE BSU will be hosting 82 freshman from Margarita Muñiz Academy (located in the Jamaica Plain neighborhood of Boston). This day will give our visiting students an opportunity to explore campus and talk with current college students from across Harvard's campus. This event will end with a talent show to display the large array of gifts our student body possess.
We're asking if you are able to help us in any of the following ways:
1. We are currently being sponsored by the Deans's Diversity Innovation Fund, but we are in need of additional sponsors and funding. We ask that your organization be a part of this event by contributing funding if you are able to. If you know of any funding sources that you would recommend we speak to, please let us know.
2. We are also in need of space to host certain portions of the day, particularly the Welcome Address and Talent Show. The space will need to be able to hold about 100 people. If you can think of anywhere that might work on your campus, please let us know!
3. We are also in dire need of volunteers! If you are willing, we would be extremely grateful if you would forward a forthcoming email to your membership to help us recruit current students to speak with our visiting students.
Thanks!
