Dear Friends,
Please refer to the chain of mails below. Its about the 9month old child
liver transplantation-- Financial need.
Please find attached, the conversation I had recorded when I went to baby's
home. I with one my friends(tcs colleague) had gone to enquire about the
genuineness of the baby's story. Friends, trust me, it is genuine.
Imagine a tender lump of flesh striving for its life intolerably
withstanding all the pain these many days. We came to know that the baby
cannot survive without an injection every four hours till operation.
We are blessed with many things , atleast , we can donate few rupees from
our pocket and save baby's life .
*The measure of a life, after all, is not its duration, but its donation*.
*What could be the biggest favour you have ever done???*
*Trust me , "Adding years to one's life is the biggest...could you believe
moment of your time and a portion of your money can make someone live
happily like any of us.." *
**
*Our survival is based on proper functioning of vital organs of our body.
could you imagine d pain when one our vital organs stop functioning ..
Could you imagine a tender lump of flesh wanting to live and see the beauty
of life, but can not, because of liver malfunctioning..*
**
*Please donate as much as you can and let us join our friends to tender
life of that child continue.*
**
We would be spending thousands of rupees for NEWYEAR's EVE . A small
percent of that would save a Life.
Operation would be on 30th dec (tentative) or in first week of jan.
Those who are interested can contact me.
Please come forward for this noble cause.
SAVE A LIFE.
*IMPORTANT NOTE:1. Please make it sure you put IBS-srimukhi in remarks.*
*2.In case if you want to give in cash, Please let me know I will transfer.*
**
Any clarifications please don't hesitate to call me.
You can cross verify with the doctor and parents.

> I just brief u what all happened:
>
> The child is second one, a female, born on 16.02.2011 at 9:37am at Life
> Hospital, Nallakunta, Shivam Road, Hyderabad. The Gyenic who did the
> surgery is Dr. Uma Devi - 99492-24658. Before baby's birth, several tiffa
> scans were done & mainly, somewhere in her eighth month of pregnancy
> (approximately), Dr. Kamalakar Reddy, Shravya Scanning Centre, Barkatpura,
> Hyderabad, had done a detailed in-depth scan, in which he couldn't predict
> anything about the prevailing disorder. The pediatrician after the birth
> of the baby told us that she's quite normal well baby.
>
> Initially the baby was excreting motion, green in colour, which in course
> of time, turned into pale yellow and later into very very light yellow.
> She was crying like anything, whenever she used to pass motion. Whenever
> we used to consult the near by pediatrician, Dr.Pallavi Kulkarni - 93948
> - 91295, for this reason, she used to tell us that babies generally cry
> while passing motion, till they get used to that pressure. We used to even
> complain about the yellowish colour of the baby's eyes, for which she used
> to ask us to just expose the baby to sunlight during twilight hours, to
> reduce the jaundice levels. Time has lapsed till almost 1.5 months of
> baby's age. The problem seemed to continue and there was zero improvement.
> When we stressed the Doctor, she asked us to go for Liver Function Test &
> on seeing the readings, she asked us to consult Dr.Preetam, at Rainbow
> Hospital, Kharkhana, Hyd, who inturn wanted us to undergo HIDA Scan and
> based on it’s results, to undergo Kasaai Surgery or if required liver
> transplant though not immediately but atleast at a later stage, based on
> the requirement.
>
> Since we wanted to go for a second opinion, we approached Dr.Vijaya
> Shekhar, Janapareddy Clinic, Diamond Point, Sikh Village, Secunderabad -
> 92465-36141, who inturn recommended Dr.Raghavendra Prasad, Surgeon for
> executing the Kasaai Surgery on 15.05.2011(60th day of the baby), at the
> same premises. It costed around a lakh.****
>
>
> Initially as per the surgeon, post operation, there were positive signs
> like gold colour of the bile juice getting drained out of the pipe let
> outside of the baby's liver. Though she was under regular medication, as
> advised by Dr.Vijaya Shekhar, for around a month, there were ups and downs
> in the bilirubin levels, which were tested weekly. As an evident symptom of
> gradual deterioration, the baby's motion was getting very light pale yellow
> again. Finally the same surgeon declared that the surgery done by him was a
> failure, which he explained us that at times, it happens in few cases. He
> recommended us to go for a liver transplant, after a comprehensive
> discussion amongst all our family members.
>
> Finally on reference of Dr.Vijaya Shekhar, we consulted Dr. Mohammed Rela,
> Global Hospitals, Lakdi Ka Phool, Hyd,(040 - 23244 444) who suggested for
> the same liver transplant and confirmed that there's no emergency as of
> now, for the surgery, as the baby's liver is not yet damaged that
> extensively and that the Liver Transplant can be done within one year of
> the baby’s age (i.e., before February 2012). As per him, the success rate
> of the transplant will be more, once the baby gains a weight of atleast
> 4-5kg further, as the anesthemosis of the baby's vessels will be very
> difficult leading to blockage, if wrongly done, despite wearing 2-3
> magnifying lenses. So, it's finally advised that the baby should pick up to
> the weight of atleast 8-10kg, by the time of the Liver Transplant. Further,
> he asked us to be in regular consultation with Dr.Ramesh, Rainbow Hospital,
> Banjara Hills, Hyderabad, as he told that he's the best in treating infants
> of pre & post liver transplants. We had to get all the vaccinations of the
> baby preponed on the advice of Dr.Ramesh, which are actually scheduled to
> be done till her 5 years. Moreover our monthly medical expenditure for the
> baby also shooted up, as we had to go strictly as per the advice of
> Dr.Ramesh & Dr.Brundavani(dietician at Rainbow Hospital), to keep the baby
> healthy & to pick her weight to the required standards. Utmost care has
> been taken care in every aspect, to safeguard the baby.
>
> Regarding the financial aspects of the liver transplant, Dr. Mohammed Rela
> asked to take the information from his PA, Mrs. G Jayalakshmi - 99850 -
> 38334. She has orally ascertained that the total expenditure pertaining
> to the liver transplant will shoot up to a sum of 20-22lakhs of rupees,
> which is undoubtedly a next to impossible for me. We could get the contact
> details of the infants who all had undergone Liver Transplants at Global
> Hospitals, from Mrs. G Jayalakshmi and contacted all the possible parents
> over phone. All the parents whom all we contacted gave a very good feedback
> regarding the hospital, treatment as well as the post surgery condition of
> their babies. That further filled up our confidence that post transplant,
> the babies will have a bright n healthy future in all the parameters,
> likewise other normal babies and thus we started moving forward and decided
> to get the transplant done, at any cost.
>
> We, as a couple as well as our entire family, were very happy and
> contented after having a son and secondly a daughter. But, after all this
> issue, we all really felt collapsed and decided together that we will not
> give up the baby. Come what may be the situation, we are ready to face
> anything other than giving up the baby. So, we all are trying our level
> best to pool up the best possible financial resources. But, as u know,
> ultimately, in the lives of middle class families, pooling up to such a big
> amount is really very very difficult.
>
> In the last week of October, during our monthly checkup by Dr.Ramesh, we
> have been advised that the Liver Transplant is to be preponed & is to be
> done on an urgent basis, as the baby’s tummy is growing, due to water
> deposition & liver enlargement – which is a sign of deterioration. She’s
> given albumin intra-venal, to urinate the accumulated water in her body,
> which as per the doctors is only buying time temporarily, as water
> deposition repeats in a span of 15-20days.****
>
> We could get the work up / the pre Liver Transplant investigations done
> both for the baby as well as my wife (who’s the donor) at Global Hospitals,
> Lakdikapool, Hyderabad.****
>
> The estimation of the Liver Transplant has been given by the hospital, as
> per the luxury standards, as the baby post & pre Liver Transplant shouldn’t
> have any sort of infection and so only few people should stay or visit her
> room. The same has been enclosed for your ready reference, in detailed.
> However, the post surgery expenses will be costing around Rs.50,000
> (approx)per month for first six months & later to Rs.25,000 (approx) per
> month for next six months, later it would be Rs.5000-Rs.7000(approx) per
> month through out the baby’s life – all which are conveyed by Mrs.
> Jayalakshmi and also the parents, whom all we contacted.****
