Thanks everyone for your patience during this morning's water main break incident; I know it was frustrating in a lot of ways.
Repairs are ongoing on the break(s) on Kilmer Street. It was a large main so it will take a while to repair the pipe and remedy the sinkhole situation (WSSC estimates 16 more hours of work), and then to pave the affected street/sidewalk areas. We appreciate your patience during this process, and please know that Mr. Brayman and Mr. Cardenas from our Public Works Department are going to monitor WSSC to ensure the work gets done as efficiently and thoroughly as possible.
If your home, yard, or other property suffered damage from this incident and you have not already been in contact with WSSC Customer Advocate David Wilkins, please call WSSC at
301-206-4002 to report the damage and begin the process to remedy it.
If you do not receive an adequate response after calling that number, please send me an email and we will elevate the issue to WSSC leadership.
There were so many residents, Public Works employees, and Cheverly Police officers who worked hard this morning to make sure everyone was safe and as dry as possible; thank you to everyone who alerted WSSC, staff, and neighbors and helped in other ways. Love our Cheverly Community!
Best,
Nicole
