(Staten Island, NY - May 31,2019) The NYC Department of Cultural Affairs (DCLA) and NYC Department of Design and Construction (DDC) joined elected officials and other local dignitaries today to break ground on a $19.5 million expansion and upgrade of the Music Hall at Snug Harbor Cultural Center on the north shore of Staten Island. The project, which is scheduled to be completed in summer 2021, is funded by DCLA and managed by DDC.

The landmarked, 686-seat Snug Harbor Music Hall was built in 1892 and is the second oldest music hall in the northeastern United States. The building will receive a 6,974-square-foot extension comprised of two levels that will have a low-profile design so as to not visually overwhelm the historic exterior of the Hall.

DDC has previously received several other awards for work at Snug Harbor. The $24.4 million Staten Island Museum renovation and expansion, Building A at Snug Harbor, was completed in September 2015 and was the first historic landmark building on Staten Island to earn a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. The project also received two awards in 2016, including the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) NY/NJ Project of the Year Honorable Mention and The New York Landmarks Conservancy Lucy G. Moses Preservation Award for Excellence in Historical Restoration.

Many years ago, I picked up the Sonozaki Futago fan TL of Onikakushi, which served as my introduction to the series. Most of the songs, as I remember, where royalty-free songs Ryukishi pulled off of free music sites for use in the game. Since then, I heard that remakes have removed those songs and replaced with new original tracks.

Does anybody have a short history of how the music changed over the years? When 07th Expansion was really doujin, they relied heavily on those free songs, but somewhere along the line those were replaced. I hear there was a big issue with that when MangaGamer first licensed it, but what about before then?

Earlier this week, the Detroit Historic District Commission approved plans (with conditions) on a new 100,000-square-foot, five-story building at Madison and Randolph that would be an expansion of the historic Music Hall. It would rise on a parking lot next to the historic building, which opened in 1928.

We are excited to undertake the renovation of 552 Capp Street to provide additional large classrooms for ensembles and group classes, another recital hall for performances, and ADA accessibility. This expansion will enhance our current tuition-free programs and enable us to launch new programs that address critical community needs.

The centerpiece of the design is a 24,000-sqft, state-of-the-art performance hall that adds 1,900 seats to the Music Hall. Additionally, a 200-seat multifunctional recital hall will also be a feature of the new expansion. The design features a chamfered floating canopy that spans walkways and an alleyway, illuminating the levels below. Enclosed aerial pathways will serve as symbolic links between the new building and the historic Music Hall, forming a shared history in the process. The alleyway connecting the two buildings will be integrated into the urban fabric of the city, providing areas for public gatherings, art exhibits, and outdoor seating.

In line with its commitment to education, the Music Hall Center will house a world-class music academy, further solidifying Detroit's position as a prominent training ground for talented musicians, composers, and artists. This initiative builds upon Music Hall's long-standing service to Detroit students, with approximately 5,000 students currently enrolled.

E.T.C. is gathering the greatest musicians from all over Azeroth to put on the biggest music festival in history. From rock to hip-hop, and from metal to pop, every class is putting on a show. Start tuning your instruments and working on your harmonies, the next act is the Festival of Legends!

Priest is getting a new evergreen addition to their class identity this year, starting in the Festival of Legends and Core sets! Minions with Overheal trigger a special effect when they are healed above their max. As currently planned, the seven-floor, 108,000-square-foot complex adjacent to Music Hall will include a 1,920-capacity concert venue, Detroit-music theme restaurant, walk-of-fame tourist attraction, rooftop club, music academy, recording studio, recital hall and more.

Along with the third-floor office space, available for lease to music and arts companies, Paul sees the complex as an interlinked ecosystem: Each of the components, from the restaurant to the recording studio to the live venue, has its own business plan, he said.

At the very least, the planned Music Hall expansion would help raise the identity of an often-overlooked 95-year-old venue that's tucked along Madison near the Detroit Athletic Club, Detroit Opera House and Gem Theatre, across from Comerica Park and Ford Field, and half a mile from Woodward concert venues such as the Fox Theatre and Fillmore.

Cool, I thought the music the CoP music wasn't as cool as SHoC's or CS's. I like having the music turned down low enough to just barely hear, with the right kind of music the game gets a creepier feeling than if it's just ambient sounds

Spotify stock (SPOT) erased gains on Wednesday after a new report from The Wall Street Journal revealed that TikTok parent company ByteDance has begun talks with music labels to expand its music-streaming service, dubbed Resso.

Spotify shares have struggled so far this year, down nearly 65% year-to-date as investors weigh the company's larger profitability struggles. The audio giant reported second quarter gross margins that disappointed at 24.6%, missing estimates of 25.2% as the streamer spent big on non-music content.

"musical composition would not have evolved very far if composers had not learned to extend a chord by changing its bass tone. Perhaps the most frequent and important way of expanding any major. . . triad is by moving the bass between the root and 3rd of the chord."

There isn't much to say harmonically about Hard to Explain. It's just a G chord with rhythmic figuration and some passing tones the A's and C's in both parts. Harmonically nothing is expanded, because there's just one chord. The B in the bass is interesting, because the chord third isn't normally played in rock music, except for arpeggiating the whole chord or walking bass, which this is not. The following A in the bass is a passing tone and that adds a nice tension before it resolves back to G.

Barely Legal combines I + vi tones G B D and E G B into vi7 or E G B D. All the notes of the chorus fit that vi7 chord except the A in the guitar - a neighbor tone - and the A in the bass - a passing tone. At the moments we hear only tones G B D is it a G chord or a portion of the vi7 chord with E omitted? The music just shifts back and forth between the two sets of tones so I like thinking of them as just parts of the one larger set, the vi7. Compare the chorus to the verse where we have I IV I IV V vi V. That's pretty traditional harmony. That progression could be a hymn! Each chord is distinct. The chorus is treated differently using a shifting/superimposing of I and vi.

You could disagree with my superimposed harmony idea and say the two chords are being played separately. That's fine. With that point of view you would have two super common chord pairs: relative major/minors I-vi and I-IV. All rock music uses those. It's barely worth mentioning. Nothing special is explained by those chord labels. I think superimposed harmony is more descriptive of how the two guitar parts work together in the choruses.

Finally, let me add that the quote you have from the book may not be a good explanation of these songs. Generally, there are differences between modern music and counterpoint (the oft-cited one being parallel fifths), and consequently the music theory of the past doesn't always yield the best explanation of the music of today.

While construction is underway, the arts continue in venues around campus and the Upper Valley. Upcoming events include the Hop-commissioned NOISE (a musical), written by Assistant Professor of Music César Alvarez and performed at Northern Stage in White River Junction, Vt.; a concert on the Green featuring Ukrainian folk quartet DakhaBrakha; the Burlington Taiko Drummers, also performing on the Green; and work-in-progress theatrical readings by the New York Theater Workshop at Currier Place.

Decompression is upward expansion, which is what the Logic expander is. The concept is simple. When the signal is higher than the threshold setting, it will have its gain multiplied in proportion to the ratio setting.

De-expansion with both a ratio and range option is an extremely useful trick because you have almost complete control over the effect without audible breathing. De-expansion without range control is meaningless to me.

Now, in the midst of a global health crisis and strain of ongoing local tornado recovery, the Fanny's team wants to offer "something hopeful to talk about" in the community: a nonprofit "School of Music" space for lessons, events and music therapy.

Cole and Maples hope to build the two-story school on an empty lot next to Fanny's Five Points location (1101 Holly St.). The $1.5 million project would offer a space for music workshops, small concerts and triple lesson capacity, Cole said.
