Your problem/suggestion/question: 

Lots of errors with new update to my Chromebook. Running Version 78.0.3904.92 (Official Build) (64-bit)

My new tab doesn't load the backgrounds at all.

Errors:

Opening a new tab receives an error like this;

Error code: 57

Type: TypeError

Message: Cannot read property 'mode' of undefined

Opening extension settings receives an error like:

Error code: 148

Type: TypeError

Message: Cannot read property 'allow_downloading_imgs_by_link' of undefined.

I will edit if I find more errors. Please ask if more info is required. Please fix quick, because my new tab doesn't load the backgrounds at all.

Tested it, works for me, Windows 10, Chrome 78.0.3904.97. I don't have Chromebook, so can't test. Judging from errors it seems that the extension can't access settings. Maybe they got corrupted during update. Did you tried to reinstall the extension?
