Hello,

I am a new user and want to try Brownie for species delimitation using a windows. I am not sure if Rbrownie could be used for species delimitation (apparently not). Anyway, I have downloaded RBrownie_0.0.9.tar.gz from Google Code site, but I cannot install the package. Here is the error message:

* installing *source* package 'RBrownie' ...
Warning: running command 'sh ./configure.win' had status 127
ERROR: configuration failed for package 'RBrownie'
* removing 'C:/Users/Sergio/Documents/R/win-library/3.1/RBrownie'
Warning in install.packages :
  running command '"C:/PROGRA~1/R/R-31~1.2/bin/x64/R" CMD INSTALL -l "C:\Users\Sergio\Documents\R\win-library\3.1" "C:/Users/Sergio/Downloads/RBrownie_0.0.9.tar.gz"' had status 1
Warning in install.packages :
  installation of package ‘C:/Users/Sergio/Downloads/RBrownie_0.0.9.tar.gz’ had non-zero exit status

I have already tried to download the .exe file (as the manual said), but I did not found it on google code.

I am missing something obvious here? Sorry for the basic question...I am just entering in the world oh bioinformatics. Any suggestion is highly appreciated!

Best,

Sergio

Dear Sergio,

RBrownie does not have species delimitation. The C++ version of Brownie does: with the closure of Google Code, it has been moved to Github: https://github.com/bomeara/brownie . However, you'd have to download it and compile it yourself on windows to do this.

Best,
Brian
