Hello,

I am attempting to test some evolutionary models in Brownie. I have
converted/merged my tree and data files using simmap, and I've used
simmap to generate a set of trees using stochastic mapping of some
ecological data. I'm trying now to get brownie to run analyses of ,
but I am having difficulties.

The taxa, characters and trees blocks all apparently enter just fine
(i.e., Brownie finishes executing the nexus file). Then the programs
hangs for a minute or two after looking at the trees block, after
which I get the following messages:

brownie(2348) malloc: *** mmap(size=1073741824) failed (error code=12)
*** error: can't allocate region
*** set a breakpoint in malloc_error_break to debug
terminate called after throwing an instance of 'std::bad_alloc'
what(): std::bad_alloc
Abort trap

Not sure what to do here.

Any suggestions would be very welcome.

Thank you,

Jim

Hi, Jim. In situations like this, it's often best to send me your data file directly so I can run it (often it's a weird formatting issue in the users' file; if not, it gives me something to work with to debug). Let me know what OS you're using, too.

Thanks,
Brian
