Attached please find the SMART Futures Update for April 2016.  For your convenience, the Public Information Office is providing a color version and a black & white version.

 

Please share the SMART Futures Update with your staff and community stakeholders.  A few highlights to note:

 

SMART Facilities:

 

  • Broward County Public Schools is committed to implementing the SMART program with fidelity and quality. 

 

  • SMART projects Districtwide continue to progress. As of March 2016, the Office of Facilities, with the SMART Cost and Controls Manager and Owner’s Representative, is overseeing approximately 230 SMART projects.

 

SMART Technology

 

  • This school year, approximately $37 million has been invested in technology upgrades at District schools, including infrastructure/network equipment, new devices and wireless access points. Work is now complete at 53 schools. This includes 21 schools completed since February 2016.

 

  • 35,000 computer devices have been installed at schools across the District.
