FASA: Education Budget Alert

I am passing along this concern for education cuts on our state budget.  I urge you to read the Alert below.  To take action, please follow the attached link (http://capwiz.com/npta2/fl/issues/alert/?alertid=12380521) or copy into Internet Explorer (I was not able to get this to work with Firefox).  There is a very simple form to fill out that will automatically complete your proper representative and give you the option of sending an email or mailing the letter.  Either way, this takes less than 5 minutes and we need all the support we can!

"Education Cuts Never Heal"

This is a FASA call to action!!!

The Florida Legislature is meeting in Tallahassee this week to cut another
$2.5 billion from our state's education budget during the January special
session. Right now they are proposing to cut another $500,000,000 from the
education budget for THIS YEAR. FASA believes that: Education Cuts Never
Heal! That is the message state legislators need to hear from Florida school
leaders now. And time is of the essence. 

No one knows better than school leaders how the cuts to education have hurt
our students and schools. As bad as it's been the last two years; it could
get much worse if we don't act now!

We are working to help you do that as fast and easy as possible. On the FASA
website we are creating a new "one-click" link that will allow you to send a
single email to every member of the Florida legislature at once. We will
also provide talking points; but remember that your personal story and
real-life examples carry the most weight. This new Action Alert feature will
be ready within the next week. 

However, the legislative leadership needs to hear from you now. Please take
just a moment to let the following members know what these cuts mean for
your students and how badly further cuts will harm our schools. You can
email them by clicking the links below.
