FLORIDA'S VOICE CONFERENCE - Pass it on!

Florida’s Voice on Developmental Disabilities (FVDD) announces its statewide conference which will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2008, in the Hull Auditorium (Health Professions Building, a/k/a Terry Building) at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale. The theme of the conference is: “Nuts ‘n Bolts: Everything You Need to Know About Guardianship, Special Needs Trusts, Medicaid Waiver Tiers, and Administrative Appeals.”  On-site registration begins at 8:15 AM, and the program begins at 9 AM.  This is an all-day conference that will bring professionals and families together to discuss critical issues pertaining to persons with developmental disabilities.

 

     Presenters on “Guardianship” will be Knyvett Lee of CareSource, Barbara Reiser of Barbara Reiser & Co.,, and Twyla Sketchley, Esq.

 

     Presenters on “Special Needs Trusts” will be Travis Finchum, Esq., Sheri Hazeltine, Esq., and Michelle Jorge, Esq.

 

     Presenting on the new Medicaid 4 tier waivers will be Mr. Ed Rousseau of the Agency for Persons with Disabilities, Tallahassee office.

 

     Presenters on “Administrative Appeals” will be Susan King, Esq., Gabriela Ruiz, Esq., and Howard20Talenfeld, Esq.

Advance registration is only $ 25.00 per person, including lunch, but will be $ 40.00 at the door. 

Limited vendor space is available for the day at $ 150.00

 

CLE’s & CEU’s are being applied for attorneys and guardians.

 

Florida’s Voice is an all-volunteer, statewide advocacy and networking 501( c )(3) non-profit organization, comprised of families and friends of persons with developmental disabilities.
