Understanding the Laws of Florida Concerning Students with Disabilities
Rosemary Palmer, Esq. will be giving a presentation for Broward County's Parent Training "Weekend with the Experts" series. Her presentation will be held on September 13, 2008, from
9 AM until 3 PM.*
Participants will
receive an overview of what federal and state laws require for all students in
Florida, so that parents will recognize when their own student’s services are
different, and know what options they have. A review of what Scientific
Research Based intervention means and what we know about what is effective for
students with disabilities will be provided. Florida laws concerning
procedural safeguards will be addressed, as well.
