Asof January 2021, the official Audacity manuals' instructions for Installing FFmpeg for Windows advise downloading FFmpeg from lame.buanzo.org; scroll down the page and click the link "FFmpeg RECOMMENDED ZIP OPTION: ffmpeg-win-2.2.2.zip", unzip it in your desired location, then point Audacity to avformat-55.dll in the unzipped folder.

edit->preferences->library says FFMPeg libary not found

i used the button to manually locate the avcodec-55.dll and save it.

but I won't take it, no error message, no happy message. just no change.

I restart the app several times, resetting each time the FFMPeg libary to no avail.

I changed Enabled from 0 to 1, it didn't fix the issue,

I did tools-> reset configuration, re-install ffmpeg, it didn't fix the issue,

I deleted audacity portable and installed it again somewhere else, re-install ffmpeg, didn't fix the issue,

I managed to find the sections you talk about and tried to change that Enabled from 0 to 1. With Audacity closed, it kind of does something, Audacity tells me that FFmpeg was previously configured and loaded, but this time it didn't manage to.

Curious thing is I left the audacity.cfg file open in Notepad++ (Portable lol) and it detected that the file was not available anymore, since the moment I opened Audacity, as if Audacity edits it or deletes it, without any Preferences change from my side inside the program. It does it all by itself.

It has avcodec-58.dll, not avcodec-56.dll, though. I suspect that if I look through prior releases of FFmpeg, I will find avcodec-56.dll.

Depends on what API calls they're using. A new decode/encode API was introduced some years ago but the old one was kept for compatibility, so clients could transition over gradually. In v59, those old calls were removed. So, if they did transition, then yes.

Fr eine Fortsetzung der Aufnahme klicken Sie erneut auf den roten Aufnahme-Knopf. Audacity fgt die neue Aufnahme nahtlos an die Erste an. Lediglich eine schwarze Linie in der Tonspur weist darauf hin, dass die Aufnahme gestoppt und erneut gestartet worden ist.

Die Bearbeitung der aufgenommenen Tonspur ist leider etwas umstndlich und wenig intuitiv, da bei Audacity das bekannte Anklicken und Bewegen von Elementen ("Drag and Drop") nicht immer funktioniert. Und auch ein Rechtsklick auf die Tonspur ffnet nicht das gewnschte Optionsmen.

Mit einem Linksklick auf die Zeitleiste oberhalb der Tonspur wird von der angeklickten Stelle die Wiedergabe unmittelbar gestartet. Klicken und ziehen Sie die Maus wird ein Wiedergabe-Bereich ausgewhlt.

Hiermit knnen Sie zum einen durch einen Linksklick in die Tonspur einen Startpunkt fr die Wiedergabe auswhlen (mit der Leertaste knnen Sie die Wiedergabe stoppen oder starten). Indem Sie die Maustaste halten und die Maus ber die Spur ziehen, bestimmen Sie einen Wiedergabe-/Bearbeitungsbereich, der daraufhin hell hervorgehoben ist. Diesen knnen Sie nun mit den Bearbeitungsoptionen in der Menleiste bearbeiten.

Eigentlich sollte es an dieser Stelle ausreichen, Ihre Aufnahme insgesamt anhand der Lautstrkespitzen auf bei Audacity standardmige -1 dB zu verstrken (Normalisieren). Whlen Sie dafr Ihre Aufnahme aus (Strg+a) und klicken im Men-Punkt Effekte auf Normalisieren... . Bei dem erscheinenden Fenster klicken Sie auf OK. Falls Sie deutlich lautere bzw. leisere Bereiche in Ihrer Aufnahme ausmachen knnen, sollten Sie diese unabhngig voneinander Normalisieren. Denn der grte Ausschlag ist immer das Ma fr die Verstrkung.

Das geht mit dem sogenannten Hllkurvenwerkzeug. Bei einm Klick darauf, verndert sich die Optik der Tonspur und es werden anhand der Skala von 0 (Mitte) bis 1 bzw. -1 in der Horizontalen grau abgestufte Bereiche abgebildet. Mit der Maus knnen Sie nun die Hllkurvenamplitude und damit die Lautstrke durch einfaches Klicken und vertikales ziehen verringern oder vergrern. Jeder Klick auf eine neue Stelle erzeugt dabei einen neuen Punkt, der in seiner Position verschoben werden kann und diese beibehlt.
