Brotli migration to Rust

Hello,

I have recently received cl/890259516 that migrates my prorotype project from using C++ Brotli to Brotli implemented on Rust (by Dropbox). I wasn't provided with convincing performance numbers. Furthermore, I'm not sure that Dropbox will be able to improve Brotli as would Google do with original authors of Brotli. So basically my question is are original authors and maintainers aware of this migration? And if yes, what do you think about it?
