It is reported that Al-Hasan Al-Basrî – Allâh have mercy on him – said: Four signs of wretchedness are: [having] a hard heart, dry eyes [that never cry], extended hopes [about this life], and greed and keenness to amass worldly things (the dunyâ).

Narrated Abu Huraira (Radi Allah Anhu) : The Prophet Muhammad (Sal-Allahu-Alleihi-Wasallam) said, "Allah likes sneezing and dislikes yawning,so if someone sneezes and then praises Allah, then it is obligatory on every Muslim who heard him, to say: 'Yar-hamukallah'('May Allah be merciful to you'). But as regards yawning, it is from Satan,so one must try one's best to stop it as much as possible, because if anyone of you yawns the Satan laughs at him." Don't exert yourselves, for you do not call a deaf or an absent one, but you call the All-Listener, the All-Seer." The Prophet (Sal-Allahu-Alleihi-Wasallam) then said, "O 'Abdullah bin Qais! Shall I teach you a sentence which is from the treasures of Paradise? (It is): 'La haula wala quwata illa billah'. (There is neither might nor power except with Allah)."
