The Veterans History Project has launched a new online exhibit titled “The Borinqueneers: A Puerto Rican Regiment” featuring the stories of 12 Puerto Rican soldiers who served in the 65th Infantry Regiment during the Korean War. Take a look at these accounts to discover the 65th’s long history as a primarily Puerto Rican, Spanish-speaking regiment, as well as the soldiers’ determination and fortitude in the face of racism and erasure.
