An Evening with Geraldine Brooks, Recepient of Library of Congress Prize for American Fiction
Join a conversation with the 2025 Library of Congress Prize for American Fiction winner, beloved bestselling novelist Geraldine Brooks, and book critic Ron Charles. Brooks is the author of six novels, including “Horse,” “People of the Book,” “Year of Wonders” and the Pulitzer Prize-winning “March.” Her latest book is “Memorial Days: A Memoir.” Book sales and signing to follow.
Also enjoy the weekly Live! at the Library activities and refreshments in the Great Hall.

Family Day: "Carlotta's Special Dress" in Civil Rights History
Carlotta Walls LaNier, the youngest of the Little Rock Nine, visits the Library to share "Carlotta's Special Dress," her personal story about a home-made dress and the historic fight to attend an all-white school in Little Rock, Arkansas, along with illustrator Vanessa Brantley-Newton. A book signing will follow.
This is event is part of the June Family Day: 250 Years of American Fashion. Families can draw inspiration from collections displays of the Library’s fashion holdings and create their own designs.
