Today, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released the Qualifying Clinical Trial Attestation form that provides an opportunity to attest to the appropriateness of the qualified clinical trial of which the Medicaid beneficiary is a participant. Section 210 of the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2021 (CAA) requires that a determination with respect to coverage be based on an attestation regarding the appropriateness of the qualifying clinical trial by the health care provider and principal investigator using a streamline uniform form developed for state use.
