The Minnesota Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF), together with Management Analysis and Development (MAD), is seeking input on how to better support families through the mandated reporting process. Anyone who is a mandated reporter of child maltreatment in Minnesota — including professionals in education, health care, child care, law enforcement, mental health, social services, faith communities, youth programs, and more – is encouraged to take this survey, which takes approx. 10 minutes to complete and can be found at the link above. All responses are confidential and will be analyzed by MAD, the State of Minnesota’s in-house consulting group. No identifying information will be shared. Your insights will help improve policies, training, and supports for mandated reporters of child maltreatment across the state. This survey will help explore ways to reimagine mandated reporting in Minnesota, focusing on when families can be supported rather than reported, and ensuring reports are made only when necessary for child safety through a community support approach.

This course provides the basic knowledge and skills needed to apply the Strategic Prevention Framework (SPF) to plan, implement, and evaluate effective, data-driven substance misuse programs and practices. It introduces the foundations of behavioral health and the public health approach to prevention. The four-day, 37-hour course (including a 6-hour pre-training online session) is designed for people who are new to prevention work, those working in related fields, or members of coalitions working to improve community health. Recovery Corps Project Coordinators play an important role in strengthening the supports and systems for people in recovery from substance use disorders. They serve at non-profit organizations and public agencies where they plan, coordinate and execute projects to address urgent needs across recovery communities and the addiction continuum of care. Des Moines Valley Health and Human Services (DVHHS) currently has a full time opening for a Community Health Educator. Primary job duties include supporting community health and prevention efforts through planning, coordination, and data-informed program development. This position assists with implementing and evaluating strategies related to substance use prevention, community preparedness, and public health sustainability. Additionally, the role supports the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program intakes and referrals, providing nutrition education and counseling, and developing materials that support healthy behaviors. The Community Health Educator works to improve overall community well-being through evidence-based approaches and strong partnerships across public health and community sectors.
Required/minimum qualifications: This position requires a bachelor’s degree in nutrition (such as Nutritional Sciences, Community Nutrition, Clinical Nutrition, or Dietetics), Health, Home Economics, Nursing, or a closely related field, and two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Dietician: Provides nutrition education and health assessments through our Women, Infants, and Children’s Nutrition Program (WIC). Primary responsibilities include assessing nutritional risks, screening for program eligibility, and providing nutrition education to children and families. Registered Nurse (RN): Provides professional nursing services within the public health department, schools, and in the community that address disease prevention and control, screening clinics, and on-gong nursing services as outlined in the Minnesota Board of Nursing Nurse Practice Act.
Required/minimum qualifications: Registered / Licensed Dietician: Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition program or closely related field required, and one year of experience in providing nutrition education; Registered Dietician Nutritionist, Licensed Dietitian, or Licensed Nutritionist or eligible to become licensed or registered within six months of hire. Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position. A valid driver’s license is required. RN: The job requires an Associate’s Degree in Nursing and current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Minnesota. The City of Bloomington is seeking a Community Health Worker to assist community members in accessing and navigating health and social services, provide health education and resources, and promote community engagement opportunities to build community capacity for healthier living in the Bloomington, Edina and Richfield (BER) communities. This position will belong on the Community Resource Team and take direction from the Community Health Supervisor. • Collaborates with residents to assess individual health, safety, and resource needs. • Performs home visits in resident’s homes independently. • Provides systems navigation support based on resident needs. • Co-coordinates and facilitates health education groups in community settings or virtually.
Required/minimum qualifications: • High school diploma or GED. • Certified as a Community Health Worker in MN and six months of experience working in a community health setting, OR at least 2 years of experience in community health work and currently enrolled in a CHW certificate program with a plan to complete within 6 months of hire. • Bilingual fluency, i.e., skilled ability to speak, read and write in English, plus verbally fluent in Spanish or Somali. • Valid driver's license, car insurance, and dependable car OR access to reliable transportation required to perform job duties.

The City of Bloomington is seeking an individual to support the City’s Community Resilience Team by advancing efforts to prepare for, respond to, and recover from public health emergencies and disasters. This position contributes to emergency operations planning, pandemic preparedness, and resilience‐building initiatives that protect and promote the health of residents across Bloomington, Edina, and Richfield (BER). The City of Edina Public Health Division is seeking candidates for an Environmental Health Specialist II position. The Environmental Health Specialist II is a program leading role, assisting the Community Health Administrator in planning and administering the Public Health Division. Candidates will protect public health by conducting inspections and investigations, providing education, and encouraging voluntary compliance with City Codes. Codes enforced include; The Minnesota Food Code, Minnesota Pool Code, Edina City Code, and other applicable Federal, State and local codes. The EHS II will coordinate activities and perform lead work duties in assigned program areas and is supported and expected to represent the City in professional organizations and cross jurisdictional collaboration. Applications will be accepted from November 19 to December 28. Interviews with selected candidates will be scheduled after January 1st, 2026.
Required/minimum qualifications: The job requires a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Environmental Health, Public Health, Biological Science, Sanitary Science, Food Science or related field and a minimum of five years experience in regulatory environmental health. The employee must be a Registered Environmental Health Specialist and possess a valid driver’s license. Desired Qualifications: A standardized Food Inspection Officer is preferred.
