Please Share Your Input: Rural Health Transformation Program

The Federal Reconciliation Bill (HR1) amended section 2105 of the Social Security Act and was signed into law on 7/4/2025. The bill made major changes to public assistance programs such as Medicaid, which will lead to loss of benefits or coverage for Minnesotans who rely on that program. To help address health care access and delivery in rural areas, the legislation allocated $50 billion dollars over five fiscal years for a new Rural Health Transformation Program as a one-time effort to fund rural health priorities over the next five years. Minnesota is seeking input on ideas that will transform rural health and strengthen rural health care delivery, especially for emergency services, primary care, care for people with complex and chronic conditions, mental and behavioral health care, maternal health care, and other at-risk services. Who should respond? • Health care providers in all settings • Administrators or workers in all types of hospitals (small independent, critical access, etc.) • Community groups and/or advocacy organizations • Public health workers • Patients • Researchers • The general public. Please respond by September 26, 2025. Respond at: https://mnhealth.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_3Xd6Rz8gfNyG502

Apply for Health in Partnership's Power-Building Partnerships for Health 2026 Cohort

We’re thrilled to announce: Applications are now open for the Power-Building Partnerships for Health (PPH) 2026 cohort! Social justice movements and public health belong together. Both seek to transform unjust systems and create the conditions for true collective wellbeing. But bridging the worlds of community power-building organizations (CPBOs) and government agencies is not always easy. The Power-building Partnerships for Health (PPH) program was created to do just that – by building trust, deepening relationships, and creating space for bold, strategic action. This year-long program brings together government health agencies and CPBOs in existing partnerships to strengthen their collaboration, advance health justice, and grow their collective power. Applications are due by October 27, 2025.

Update: County Health Rankings & Roadmaps will provide resources through December 2026

Through uncertain times, County Health Rankings & Roadmaps (CHR&R) remains committed to keeping as much data, evidence, narrative training, and other tools available for as long as possible. Although RWJF funding is ending in December 2026, we are seeking new funding to support the continuation and evolution of our resources. We are eager to connect with others interested in joining together to reimagine what’s possible. We are also exploring ways to make a curated set of CHR&R resources available and usable beyond December 2026, when RWJF’s funding concludes. This could mean some of our data, evidence, and other resources are adapted or embedded on other websites or platforms. We will continue to provide information as it becomes available and invite you to contact and be in conversation with us. Subscribe to our newsletter to receive the latest updates.

Spread the word - Culturally relevant meal bags available from Every Meal

More than 300,000 children in Minnesota live with food insecurity. Every Meal’s mission is to fight child hunger through school and community partnerships. We currently partner with about 375 schools across the state, with volunteers discreetly placing 4-5lb. bags of culturally/situationally tailored food in students’ backpacks on Friday so they have food for the weekend. Many find funding through community donors, fundraising, etc. - Food Distribution Affiliates: Any non-school entity may also purchase our food bags - think community centers, libraries, clinics, hospitals, and more. Email lschl...@everymeal.org to learn more, or fill out an interest form at https://www.everymeal.org/connect/.
