I had an amazing afternoon on Whitney Point Dam, NY from Keibal rd. Heavy rain and snow mixed ended and the lake was full of loons. I had over 200 COMMON LOONS and just shy of 70 RED-THROATED LOONS. This was no doubt a "fallout" of loons as they were migrating north with the heavy rain and snow grounding them. I have some photos with an audio recording of the red-throated loon which I have never heard vocalize before. Near the beginning of Keibal Rd I had my first PALM WARBLERS of the spring which posed nice for me. see ebird list below.
