All,

After a heavy early morning nocturnal flight of mainly SWAINSON'S THRUSHES I headed up to Dorchester and then Upper Lisle. Dorchester was quiet. Upper lisle was loaded. Right off the bridge I had a spotted sandpiper and a least sandpiper foraging by the puddles on the road. Then I had NORTHERN PARULA, BLACKPOLL and TENNESSEE WARBLER in the tree by the bridge. Bassett Road was crazy with warblers. I missed many as I had about a dozen flyovers I couldn't ID. But I was able to get on  OVENBIRDS, BLACKBURNIAN, BLACK-THROATED BLUE, BLACK-THROATED GREEN, NORTHERN PARULAS, AMERICAN REDSTART, CAPE MAY, BLACKPOLL, NASHVILLE, COMMON YELLOWTHROAT, BLACK AND WHITES, TENNESSEE, MAGNOLIAS and WILSONS.  Then past the red gate I had my first of fall YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER. I also had first of fall RUBY-CROWNED KINGLET on Bassett.  The best bird of the day for me was a nice YELLOW-BELLIED FLYCATCHER. I saw an empid that was very greenish on its back and immediately I was thinking YBFL. So I was able to lure the bird out for some great photos and indeed it was. I got some really nice photos. Vireos were also plentiful with 3 PHILADELPHIA VIREOS, 3 BLUE-HEADED VIREOS and nice numbers of RED-EYED VIREOS. I still had a couple WARBLING VIREOS as well. 2 SWAINSON'S THRUSH were heard calling from Bassett road. All in all I had an excellent day of fall birding. see my ebird list below which has some photos.
