Greetings!
The Food Bank of the Southern Tier is once again hosting Advocates in Action, a training series for anyone wanting to advocate for food access programs & share their experiences to ignite positive change.
Learn things like how to utilize stories to motivate others to take action, how to connect with your elected officials to advance the policies we know will make a difference in this trying time for poor and working folks.
This training is open to anyone in the Southern Tier. Those with firsthand experience with
food insecurity are especially encouraged to attend. Here’s the details:
📢 ADVOCATES IN ACTION 2026
💻 WHAT: An online, accessible training, broken up into manageable chunks.
⌚ WHEN: Once a month for four months, April – July; Wednesdays 5:30 – 7 pm (April 22, May 27, June 24, July 22). (Sign up for those that interest and work for your schedule).
🙋♀️ WHO: Anyone in the Southern Tier who wants to stand up for those experiencing hunger and advocate for food access programs. Those who have experienced food insecurity are especially encouraged.
🔎 WHY: To build skills and gain knowledge needed to advocate for food security at this critical time.

NOTE: Those currently experiencing financial hardship who are not attending as part of their paid work will be issued a stipend. Those who complete all four sessions and have lived experience with food insecurity are eligible to join our Community Advocates Program.
