Hello FBST Network Partners—

Please take some time TODAY to sign-on to the petition linked below if you haven’t had a chance.

We are just a day away from New York State’s deadline to announce our final state budget, determining how programs will be funded for Fiscal Year 2027. This includes funding for the Hunger Prevention and Nutrition Assistance Program (HPNAP) and Nourish New York, two critical food programs that help distribute food and support operations at our 10-member food banks and nearly 4,000 pantries and community-based organizations across the state. As the Governor and leadership in the Senate and Assembly finalize the budget, now is our last chance to ensure HPNAP and Nourish New York are fully funded at $75 million each in the enacted state budget.

Last Call for Advocacy: Fully Fund HPNAP and Nourish New York
in the State Budget!

Our member food banks and food pantries across the state have continued to see an increase in demand, especially as the cost of living rises and federal cuts to SNAP are underway. On March 1st, 2026, federal work requirements to qualify for SNAP came into effect. These changes are estimated to impact over 300,000 New Yorkers. As more people inevitably lose SNAP over the next few months, food banks and pantries will be burdened with increasing lines and demand.

Sign our petition today to urge that the Fiscal Year 2027 State Budget includes $75 million each in funding for HPNAP and Nourish New York.
