Our member food banks and food pantries across the state have continued to see an increase in demand, especially as the cost of living rises
and federal cuts to SNAP are underway. On March 1st, 2026, federal work requirements to qualify for SNAP came into effect. These changes are estimated to impact over 300,000 New Yorkers. As more people inevitably lose SNAP over the next few months, food banks
and pantries will be burdened with increasing lines and demand.
