Hello lovely folks!
We are officially in countdown mode: the first ever Brooklyn Skillshare is now a MONTH away! Please read the following carefully:
This email is to let you know about our mandatory meeting we're having for teachers and volunteers before the Skillshare on Monday, September 28th at 8pm @ our venue, the Gowanus Studio Space (119 8th street Brooklyn, New York, 11215 Suite 202, Between 2nd and 3rd Avenues).
Barring any previous engagements, we really need your attendance in order for you to get acclimated with the space, meet each other and everyone else involved, be delegated a task to help out with the day of the event.
Another date to mark on your calendars: Friday, October 23rd is going to be our thank you dinner (free of charge, of course) to all teachers & volunteers for all their help. Location TBD.
Other than that, we are working on our promotional poster for the Skillshare and will hopefully have it ready for distribution by the end of next week! We are also currently seeking food donations for breakfast and lunch for the day of the Skillshare if anyone has any leads/knows of any local restaurants or vendors that might be interested in doing so, let me know.

I have forwarded everything to Max who ik now is still with it to teach the class on October 13th but he is going on tour at the end of sept with his band. I will let you know shortly once I hear back.

Clarification to previous email: the BKSS listserv is for volunteers and participants alike (with volunteers also allowed to participate in classes, of course). You cannot respond to mass-emailings, but are free to email us with any questions at brooklyns...@gmail.com.
The meeting is mandatory only if you wish to volunteer! Things we will be needing assistance with the day of the Skillshare include (but are not limited to):

- setting-up/tearing-down breakfast in the morning
- assisting teachers with setting-up
- sitting at intake table to:
- collect money
- distribute class schedules
- answer questions about the Skillshare
- collect names/emails for email database
- collect evaluations for classes
- setting-up/tearing-down lunch in the afternoon
