BKSS: meeting minutes 9/28/09

Home stretch, ya'll!

Much thanks to all who showed up tonight in the less-than-pleasant weather!

Met @ Gowanus Studio Space--who are in transition from moving from their space on the 2nd floor to a much larger studio downstairs (our future 1-day home). Will be much more ideal for us!

VOLUNTEERS

To those that are still interested in volunteering their services the day of the Skillshare, but were unable to attend, we are in need of filling the following tasks still (???? - denotes spot yet to be filled):

• Tabling Duties (collect $, distribute class schedules, direct attendees to correct rooms, take names/emails for mailing list)
  
  
• BLOCK I (10-11:30am): Yana
• BLOCK II (11:45am-1:15pm) : ????
• BLOCK III (1:45-3:15pm): Krista
• BLOCK IV (3:30-5pm): ????
• BLOCK V (5:15-6:45pm): ????
  
  
• Breakfast set-up/tear-down: Yana + ????
  
  
• Lunch set-up/tear-down: ???
  

TEACHERS

• If you were unable to attend tonight's meeting, you will be reimbursed the day of the Skillshare for any supplies you purchase for your class. Please save + bring your receipts (if over $40, please email brooklyns...@gmail.com to discuss).
• Please show up a minimum of 15 minutes prior to your class if you are not there beforehand.
• Please get your teacher bios to Meg by the end of the week at the latest.

STILL ON TAP TIL THE SKILLSHARE!

• Meg is meeting with Fairway on Thursday to hopefully get them to donate/cater (*fingers crossed*) for breakfast & lunch. Yana is working on contacting various BK bagelries as well.
  
• Please save/bring your glass bottles (all kinds!) to donate to Jackson's class "Treasure Everywhere! - turning glass bottles into cups, bowls, & vases"
• Angela, who is teaching "Massage Basics: taking care of yourself & others" is requesting for folks to bring blankets & towels for her class to sit on
  
  
• FLYERING!! We have the following areas covered: Prospect Heights, Dumbo, Greenpoint, Fort Greene, Clinton Hill, NYU, Columbia, Carroll Gardens, Flatbush, SoHo, W. Village, Union Square, Lefferts Gardens, SVA, Park Slope, Gowanus, Red Hook....
  
  
• WE NEED THE FOLLOWING NEIGHBORHOODS COVERED: Atlantic Antic! Greenmarkets! BK Flea! Bed-Stuy, South Williamsburg, Bushwick, Brooklyn Heights, Sunset Park, Bay Ridge...and any other neighb not listed! If you live/work/can flyer in any of these areas, please email brooklyns...@gmail.com to arrange getting flyers (or download and print the PDF attached)
