The idea of a Skillshare is not a new notion, just becoming more prevalent! We were inspired to start BKSS just 2+ years ago from attending Boston Skillshare which has been running consecutively for over 10 years now!
The idea of a Skillshare is spreading!
Check out newbie and also-NYC-based Skillshare.com (whom we are not affiliated with, but support all the same) who just launched their beta site with an impressive roster full of classes like “Literary Devices Through Rap” and how to start up your own start-up! They are also looking to spread the love nation-wide, with San Francisco next on their list of cities to host their “community marketplace to learn anything from anyone” (they made this awesome animation above--click to check it out on their vimeo page).
But we’d also like to remind that there are tons of other organizations that have been spreading the gospel of community learning far longer than us like non-profits Time Bank and Skillshare International. Check these others out and stay-tuned for more classes from Brooklyn Skillshare!
