Hi all, I want to let you know our plans for this coming Autumn,
hopefully it heralds some changes for the better. The main change will
be getting a lot more involved with the PlayRugby USA folks, who have
done an incredible job organising youth rugby in NYC and are helping
us get coaching staff and field space.

First off, we will be splitting into elementary flag rugby and middle
school tackle rugby. Elementary flag will stay as is, Sunday mornings,
tackle will be one mid week practice likely Tuesday or Wednesday
around 4pm, and one game either home or away Sunday morning. This
means we will not have a flag option for middle school.

Secondly, we are trying to capture some field space, we're hoping for
Parade Grounds or JJ Byrne, but we'll let you know as soon as we have
something.

Thirdly, we'll be bumping up the coaching staff to include
professional tackle coaching for the midweek session and flag coaching
for Sunday. I'll be moving more to an organising role, but of course
all help is gladly welcomed from any interested parents.

So, all I really need to know right now is who is likely to
participate in the tackle league? Tackle will be us, Manhattan, Pelham
and Greenwich. We may soak up some players from Rockaways or other
teams as needed, but it will likely be four teams. We're also planning
an away trip to Boston in November. Please let me know if you are
somewhat interested, interested or a definite for the tackle program.

Cheers all,

Jaz
