Brooklyn Dragons - Spring Notice

It is with great sadness I must step down from running the Dragons.
I've had an incredible six years working with a group of great kids,
and met all their wonderful parents. Howver, as we move into tackle, I
have been unable to secure adequate coaching that meets the expertise
and safety I need for our kids. For this reason, I am planning on
folding the program into the very well staffed programs nearby.
What this means:
1. I am very open to anyone else or another organisation carrying on
the Dragons, I think there's enough interest for a strong flag team in
Brooklyn.
2. Tackle players are strongly encouraged to join a more established
club, options include Play Rugby USA in Manhattan or Rockaways;
Pelham; or Morristown. I can furnish details of contacts and practice
times to any interested parents. My current understanding is that the
Middle School Tackle League will practice locally and then play each
Sunday at Randall's Island.
We have some limited amount of gear that is available to anyone
wanting to carry on flag, and I can also turn over the domain name,
email accounts and other such bits and pieces.
Over the last few years we've seen about 200 kids go through the
program, it's been wonderful to have been part of it, and I thank
everyone who has particpated, encouraged, voluneteered, brought food,
ferried kids, all of it was as much your effort as it was the staff's.
Please let me know if you have any need of additional information or
any thoughts on carrying on the Dragons.
