Directions to Vernon
Take the route you would to Minooka, Hwy 164.. sooo:
Take Greenfield Ave, or Bluemound going WEST (towards Majestic/Skateland, from Brookfield)
When the split comes up stay on the Hwy 164 side, so a SLIGHT LEFT (towards Oscars, from Brookfield)
Continue down this, keep your eye out for the Hwy 164 turn off sign, you will have to turn LEFT (this will come after a bunch of white and blue flags, don’t be confused ahead are a bunch of white and blue flags, so I guess, in between some white and blue flag car dealerships, you should know this intersection for it’s on the way to Minooka, it’s also called the East-Side Bypass if that helps anyone)
Continue down Hwy 164, go past Broadway Street, go past Racine Ave, go past Sunset Drive, the road will take a big curve to the right and then the next set of lights (or so I think, 90% sure) Hwy 164 turns off again, turn LEFT again. (it’s a big four way, four lane intersection, guys were starting to get out in the middle of nowhere and there are not really many landmarks, it’s called S East Ave or Country Rd F, if you hit Oakdale you’ve gone too far).
You should be heading south, you will be on this road for a bit. Continue driving past Lawnsdale Rd, past Townline Rd, you will take a slight curve to the left, you will reach an intersection. Turn RIGHT on County Rd ES / National Ave. (You will pass a Citgo Gas Station, which will be on your left just before the turn, up ahead you will see the I-43 highway bridge, if you go under a bridge, turn around).
You will not be on County Rd ES / National Ave for too long, the next main road (keep in mind you are not in a town, you are in the middle of nowhere, this intersection doesn’t have street lights, look for the road sign!) you will be taking a LEFT, that is a LEFT on Center Drive. (We have hit butt nowhere and there are no landmarks, it isn’t hard to miss).
Now, enjoy the scenery, for you have a bit of a drive, you will pass the I-43 highway, going over it I believe, and then continue on in the mist of farmland and nature. You will pass some cornfields, and will go passed the main, non-city like, intersection of Edgewood Rd and Center, continue on Center Drive.
Soon on your LEFT will be Vernon Park, it has a white gate at the entrance, hopefully you won’t miss it.
Park the car, gear up and get pumped!
If you get lost, call someone, or stop at a gas station, underclassmen ask upperclassmen for rides!
