Hey All,

Sunday's game against DSHA has been moved to this Friday the 10th at 5pm at Dretzka.

12020 W Bradley Rd, Milwaukee, WI 53224

sooo like 124th and Bradley. It's about a half hour drive depending on where you're coming from so plan accordingly.

Also, if you haven't heard, we are still having practice on Monday from 4-6.

Thanks,
Kelly

Julie & other Bruiser followers,

I attached a copy of fall game schedule, along with letter from Benny that was posted on the Brookfield bruisers.blogspot. (In order to view you have to log on under "current players click here" and enter a password that you create)

Also, you might want to check out " Wisconsin U-19 Girls Rugby"  (under Other Rugby Blogs Spots on the Brookfield Bruisers.blogspot- column on right side)   No  additional logon is required as it is not specific to our team.  It has some good info including additional dates on the state playoff dates this fall.  It was even updated to include info on the Highland Games this past weekend.

Hope this helps

Sally Cashin

PS of course note that the DSHA game listed has since been changed !!!!!!

Fall Update

Hello Parents and Players,

I finally figured out a way to use the Google group! And this is where we are at currently; I have had the same 10 to 15 girls coming out all summer for practice, which I am happy about to a certain extent. I need more girls to start showing up, as of right now I'm not entering the team in the highland games because we don’t have enough girls showing up to practice to make spending that money worth it. Next week is fun week; two a day’s everyday that week, if I haven’t seen your face all summer and you expect to fill a spot in this club then you MUST be at practice next week. As mentioned before I am new to this club and I am trying to set up a starting 15 that will be successful in leading you girls back to nationals! But I can't do this if I you don’t come to practice and if I don't even know you!!!! As of last week I have enough for an A side and that all, after this year with so many senior leaving we are going to need to recruit and those of you younger players need to step and establish a B side.

I will be forming the starting lineup next week so if you have aspirations of starting and/or playing it is imperative that you make it to next week’s sessions.

As for tomorrow and Beach 5's Emily sent out a discussion for everyone to let them know when and where to meet down there. Bring socks you cannot play barefoot! Also bring tennis shoes as well! As of right now I haven’t registered you girls for highland games, but if I get a strong turnout tomorrow I will cut the check and we will roll.

Attached is the fall schedule making sure these dates are free in your calendars especially the Founders cup game on Friday Night! Never have we won that piece of hardware, so I expect us to take it this year!

Brookfield:

09/05 Sunday Highland Games Waukesha Expo [optional]

09/12 Sunday DSHA TBD TBD

09/19 Sunday Oak Creek Minooka 1:00 pm

09/24 Friday Catholic Memorial Minooka 4:30 pm

10/03 Sunday Vernon Vernon Field 12:00 pm

10/10 Sunday Kettle Moraine Minooka? 1:00 pm

In closing, get your but to practice so we can practice as a team and get ready for the season.

That is all,

Benny

Our last regular season game will be held this Sunday, October 10th at Nagawaukee Park against Kettle Moraine.

The time of the game got switched to 9am due to Flight Camp, which is from 11-4 on Sunday at Nagawaukee. There is a $25 fee to attend. I highly encourage everyone to go. Talk to Kaisee with further questions.

Anyways, please be at the field at 7:45am. If you need a ride, do not hesitate to ask one of the upperclassmen. A $3 parking fee may or may not be charged so be prepared.

Go to bed early...and set yourself a few alarms!

Parents and Players--

For this past game we bought subs from Subway. Because we would prefer to not use team money for this, for those of you who were not able to bring a food item to share, could you please send $10 to practice on Monday (tomorrow) and give to Kelly Brusky.

Thank you so much! GREAT game, Bruisers!!

GO BRUISERS!

Ladies,

First off, I want to say what an amazing job you have all done. From players to coaches to parents (especially parents), I'm so glad to see how cohesive this club is and was glad to be apart of it. Don't ever lose sight of that.

For your match against DSHA, remember one thing. Any day you get to play rugby is a great day!!! You are all blessed with the intelligence, skill, and passion to play such a marvelous game; one that few around the world get to experience.

DO NOT cheapen yourselves by worrying about the name of DSHA or Midwest playoffs or anything else. Simply focus on the fact that on that day you get to play rugby, the game you love, and you get to play it with the girls you love. If you focus on those two things, no one can beat you. Regardless of the score, you can walk off that field after your match knowing you were fortunate enough to play such a great game with such great people.

That said, also don't cheapen it by NOT giving your VERY BEST!!! You owe it to your coaches, your parents, your school, your community; but most importantly YOURSELVES to HAVE FUN and PLAY TO YOUR VERY BEST!!!

Good luck ladies. Take care.

Austin

I agree with Austin..
Go on the field and give it your all, when you get off the field, you should not be saying or thinking 'I should have done this' or 'I could have done that' If you're on the field, make sure to play your heart out! Rugby is played with your heart, and with your heart you can do just about anything.
I just have to say that I'M SO PROUD OF YOU LADIES!
This game is just another game, show them what you got.
also for Austin you forgot me mention that they have the 'swagger of a champion'!

Parents and players-

The DSHA game on Sunday scheduled for 11am got changed to a 10:30am kickoff. Please be ready to warm up no later than 9:15am. If you cannot be there at that time due to rides, please let an upperclassmen know.

Also, there is an optional practice tomorrow (Friday) from 4-6pm if you would like to come.

Thanks,

Kelly Brusky
