Hey Everyone.

First I want to remind you all that we have a meeting this saturday at 3 pm at the starbucks on 33rd and 5th.  i hope i see a bunch of you there.

Also, I want to apologize for dropping the ball this week.  Midterms got the best of me.

As of now because of all our outreach on facebook, we are missing only 281 or so email addresses and about 25 postal addresses. So congrats you guys have been doing an amazing job!

I went through the google document with the email addresses and made three different spreadsheets.  I will contact the people with the missing postal addresses, so I made that my own spreadsheet for that.  Another spreadsheet has people who have completed info, and the third has missing email addresses.  (It took me forever to figure out where the diff spreadsheets are but the list is horizontally listed on the bottom of the doc)

Basically I divided the list into about 31 names and color coded it so you could tell each grouping apart.  So, please pick a chunk and put your initials in the column listed 'initals".  Then after you contact a person on facebook just put a Y in the column "contacted."

I worked on a blurb to send out to people on facebook that you could either use or make up your own:

"Hey there I'm a member of the Bronx Science Reunion Committee.  We are currently planning our 5 year reunion.  Your email address is missing in our records.  Please email it along with any other updated contact information to: bxsci04r...@gmail.com
Also, if you have not done so please join the facebook group ""Bronx Science Class of 2004 (5 year reunion)"

Thanks for helping us keep our records straight and look out for updates about the reunion!

Thanks!"

I'll be checking the google board for a response and I will post this there because I'm not sure how many of you check it every day.

Thanks guys! see you soon.

:) Danielle

Sorry this is soo long.

Sorry guys,

I got a bad cold a couple of days ago.  Everything looks awesome.  The password for the google account is: 75 West 205 St

I just logged in after creating it yesterday and a lot of people have already emailed updating their contact information.  I will take charge of putting all that into the google spreadsheet.  I can do it over the next couple of days cuz i am battling this annoying cold and also i have midterms coming up.

I think we should keep it in google docs because it can be edited and i dont really think it can be done that way on the google group page.

So basically I think you should get a minimum for the places, because we need to know sorta what our bottom number is.  I feel like people might say they will come now but in the end they won't sign up.

Perhaps we can just set the event up as for alumni but if people make special requests to bring their special someone we can accomodate for an extra charge?

I guess you guys are communicating via that webpage thing so I will go ahead and start looking at that.

Danielle

PS I think the best thing for the email is if we rotate who looks at it or have certain people responsible because otherwise we might do things twice and stuff.  See you on the google page.

I do believe you can set it up so that the Reunion account can forward copies of any mails it receives to our personal GMail accounts. I'm just not sure if it can be forwarded to multiple accounts. In which case we might have to resort to logging into the Reunion account to check any mail that comes our way. Regardless, I would need the password to the Reunion account to set up any of kind forwarding...but that'll happen in due time.

I was thinking that we should maybe outline some sort of separation of responsibilities between the committee members. The way it appears right now- Danielle is head as Committee Chair, Jess is handling all venue related issues, Connie's looking into financial matters (bank account, Paypal, etc.), Carla has the GoogleGroup under control, and Brittany and Erika seem to be taking hold of the Facebook group. That still leaves 3 of us that can fill in wherever you guys need us. I just think that making different people responsible for different aspects of the reunion planning might ultimately be a more efficient way to cover all our bases. Plus we all have different strengths and weaknesses so if we all pick up on something that we know we can do a good job at, then that'll be even more beneficial to us as a committee. Obviously we will fall back on the strength of the committee when we need them and consult with each other when making decisions but I think it'd be good for one person to take charge of one area- which is clearly already happening.

As for everything else- I reckon I'll go ahead and use the GoogleGroups for feedback

Cheers!
Srav

Nice homepage, Carla! I like the customization already.

I'm importing all your wonderful input to the group page. Continue to discuss over there :)

Srav/Erika, correct me if I'm wrong, but i think we can include our own email addresses to the BxSci gmail account Danielle created. We can treat it like an email list and receive any emails in our personal inbox. OR we can just login to the BxSci account itself...either way is cool

Hii everyone :D

I second the google group thing
, it should help out with keeping everything organized instead of fishing around for old e-mails.  When I brought up the google doc thing last weekend that's actually what I had been thinking of lol I just couldn't remember what it was at the time.

Srav, I don't think anyone has gotten the password yet so you're not out of the loop.

I agree with Connie that an overall headcount is a good idea before deciding if we have room for +1.  If we can't then we need to be clear so that people don't send in payment for a +1.  If we split the event into two time slots then some people will end up missing others they wanted to meet up with at the reunion.  I think we should avoid splitting it up, but I have no idea yet how to remedy the possibility of over crowding other than hoping not everyone shows up on time and that some people will leave early in groups.  Unless we limit the number of drinks per person since people might leave if they run up their allotment of free booze :-P j/k

I'm not sure how many '04 classmates there are but I can think of about 5 of the top of my head 3 of which I've seen who are members of the group already.  I don't think there are too many.  Other than that I noticed the group is at 214 members out of 439 invited via fb and I searched earlier to see how many BHS '04 Alum there are on fb and it came in at around 516.  Out of a class of around 600 I think we've done a pretty good job at reaching out to people, the rest depends on how many people actually join the group and/or update their contact info and if we can find the roughly 170 who are either not on facebook or have not been sent a group invite yet.

Nitenite,

Erika

Can we also set up a googlegroups account (http://groups.google.com/) and then invite all of us to it? It'll make our discussions more organized by topic. Plus, you can also choose how often you want to be notified of updates to this group (by update or daily digest, etc).

Just a suggestion..don't worry, we won't be using all of Google's apps! =)

Hey Everyone,

I decided to go ahead and set up this email address.  Brittany did an awesome facebook group that you should all join if you have not already, "Bronx Science Class of 2004 (5 year reunion)."  And thanks Connie for the clarification for PayPal. I'm going to put this email address in the facebook page, so if people have questions they can direct them directly to this email.
Also thanks to those of you who have added their friends' email addresses to the goggle doc spreadsheet, but I hope everyone can get to it soon.  Then we can begin to divide up the remaining names.

Thanks,

Danielle
