Microsoft Solitaire Collection was first made available for free download in Windows 8's Windows Store. Despite solitaire games previously being included in Windows for free since 1990,[5] they were not included in Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 and were uninstalled during upgrades from previous systems.[6] Instead, Microsoft produced the advertising-supported[2] Microsoft Solitaire Collection that users could download through the Windows Store. As a Windows Runtime app, it ran in fullscreen or in Windows 8's snapped mode, so it was designed to run in a variety of horizontal sizes but always stretch vertically across the entire screen.
Since the original "Microsoft Solitaire" was Klondike solitaire but did not use the Klondike branding, some users were unaware it was Klondike. The Microsoft Casual Games team reportedly received frequent feedback to "Bring back the game mode from Windows 7" even though they already did. To address user confusion and help users find this game, the developers replaced the large polar bear on the Klondike tile with a Klondike deck and the words "Classic Solitaire".[7]
Microsoft Solitaire Collection was made available for iOS and Android in August 2016 to beta testers in the Microsoft Casual Games Inner Circle.[8][9] It was made publicly available on these platforms on November 23, 2016. Most iOS solitaire apps are integrated with Apple's Game Center, but this one is exclusively integrated into Microsoft's ecosystem. Since these versions integrate directly with the cloud service, it is not necessary to have the Xbox app installed on an iOS or Android device in order to sync data and achievements.[10][9]
I have tried all of the suggested fixes and nothing works. Microsoft solitaire collection is gone for good on my computer. Side note: Same thing happened with Microsoft Sudoku and almost all of my windows 10 fonts disappeared had had to be reinstalled piecemeal. At least the fonts could be reinstalled. Oh, well ! What more can I say beyond Windows 10 was not made in heaven.
The second method (CCleaner). seems to remove the solitaire collection, but when I close and open CCleaner, the collection appears again. MS Store, reports that the collection is still installed, and will not reinstall.

I have been playing microsoft solitaire collection for months on my iphone and now all of a sudden the game will not open. I have restarted my phone. Deleted the app and reloaded it and it still will not work.

The skill level you have selected will decide how many suits are in play - with all the cards as a single suit, 'spades' Spider is a relaxing diversion. Go for a full sweep of spades, hearts, diamonds, and clubs, and it's a bit trickier. This is probably the solitaire game that you can most tailor to your mood.
Tripeaks comes from the 'Homerun' school of solitaire games where you select the next discard card to be one higher or lower than the dealt card in view; while in Spider, here, you can remove pairs of cards if they add up to thirteen and are unblocked. A lot of people like these two styles of games, but they're a touch too reliant on random deals to prove the challenge. I much prefer the style of Freecell, where every initial deal is (just about) solvable.
As an Xbox Live title, you have a number of achievements you can shoot for, which earn you gamer points. Generally these are endurance challenges ('win 100 solitaire games' being one that may take you some time) and force you to keep playing for an arbitrary goal - at least the leader boards have some competitive spirit to drive you towards competing.
Microsoft's Solitaire Collection is a workmanlike solitaire game for Windows Phone - it will happily scratch the itch of a good solo card gamer. As it is an Xbox Live Title, and distributed by Microsoft, it's going to get a lot more downloads because of the positioning. Yes, it could be better, with more games, a slightly more interactive UI, and lose the in-app advertising that promotes the other Microsoft gaming titles, but there's nothing fundamentally wrong with the title either.
