Theneed for timely, accurate, and complete streamflow data is critical during floods and heavy rains because these data are relied on by local, State, and Federal emergency management personnel for flood response purposes. The USGS Oklahoma-Texas Water Science Center is developing flood early warning systems with elevated streamgages, redundant monitoring and reporting equipment, and multiple communication systems. These systems will give first responders and citizens reliable and timely data during rapidly changing flood events.

U.S. Geological Survey field crews are measuring flooding throughout Texas as rainfall moves across the state. As of this morning, 38 USGS streamgages are over National Weather Service flood levels, and water continues to rise at 172 gauges throughout Texas. The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch for parts of central Texas through this evening. USGS real-time maps of flood and high flow conditions may be accessed using the USGS Texas Water Dashboard.

Twenty USGS field crews are measuring floodwaters and verifying streamgage operations on the Rio Grande, Red, San Antonio, Guadalupe, Colorado, Brazos and Trinity River Basins. Today, crews will be flagging high-water marks on the Llano River, west of Austin, as it nears record flooding.

Oklahoma State Baseball is no stranger to Arlington, Texas and Globe Life Field. The Cowboys are among the most familiar college baseball teams to the building after making multiple appearances in the College Baseball Showdown, including in 2023, and at the Big 12 Baseball Tournament.

And the Cowboys are back in the Globe Life Field saddle again in one of the most stacked fields of the three-week showdown this season. Oklahoma State is part of the Kubota College Baseball Series Weekend 2 that features teams ranked in various polls at No. 2 and No. 3 in Arkansas and Oregon State.

The Cowboys are no slouches. Despite losing a considerable amount of talent from last year's team, OSU started the season on the cusp of some rankings and in at No. 21 on another. But the season didn't start the way they wanted.

Oklahoma State lost on Opening Day in Huntsville, Texas to Sam Houston, 7-2 and again 2-1 before exploding in Game 3 for a 19-2 win. They played Abilene Christian at Globe Life Field on Feb. 21 in a warm-up game to the weekend.

Carson Benge, one of the best hitters in college baseball, slashed .583/.833/.643 in week one. He scored three runs and drove in four more. The sophomore outfielder and pitcher is a top-30 prospect in the FloBaseball composite rankings, coming in at No. 26.

With a fastball clocked at 96, Benge is definitely as much of a pitching prospect as a hitter. In his first appearance this season he walked two and recorded an out in the four batters he faced last week.

FloBaseball is home to thousands of college baseball games this spring, including the Shriners Children's College Showdown (formerly the College Baseball Showdown) from Feb. 16 to March 3 at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.

The actual time and date of the MLB Draft hasn't been announced, but it will take place during 2024 MLB All-Star Week. MLB All-Star festivities kick off on Sunday, July 14, with the main event taking place on Tuesday, July 16.

And remember, you can revisit all of your favorite moments from the season, as video footage from each league is archived and stored in a video library for FloBaseball subscribers to watch during the duration of their subscriptions.

You can watch select Eastern Oklahoma State College and local high school games on Mountaineer TV. The Mountaineer Radio team will provide a live broadcast and video stream with play-by-play and color commentary throughout the game. Be sure to join them live for the pre-game show beginning 30 minutes before the start of the game.

Bob Ricks, FBI Special Agent In Charge: When I arrived at the scene, it -- it had all of the -- the markings of a bombing. I had worked international terrorism at FBI headquarters before that and had worked many cases in the Middle East. It looked almost identical to some of the buildings that had been destroyed in Beirut and places like that.

Jon Hersley, FBI Investigator: I knew a lot of the people in the building. I knew the DEA agents that were in the building, I knew the ATF agents that were in the building, and those people were friends of mine. I could not believe what had happened to all of them and how this could be? How could somebody get to that state in their life where they could be so angry and upset that they would do something like this?

Archival Sot: Richard Butler, Aryan Nations Founder: We the white race lost the war. A plague known as Jews won the war, infiltrated our bloodstream of our race in every country in which we reside.

Leonard Zeskind, Writer: Richard Butler, like many far-right people at the time, held that the federal government was in the hands of the Jews. And the only way to save America was to assert your Christian sovereignty, your white Christian sovereignty.

Daniel Levitas, Writer: The Aryan Nations attracted people from all walks of life who were white, all of them looking for someone to blame for the situation. And they focused their anger on the federal government. People like Robert Mathews.

Mark Potok, Journalist: The Turner Diaries culminates with these anti-government resisters blowing up the FBI headquarters in Washington, DC. It had this electrifying, energizing effect on all kinds of people on the radical right. Bob Mathews named his group The Order after a terrorist cell in The Turner Diaries.

Wayne Manis, FBI Investigator: Their expertise grew week-by-week and month-by-month. This was an organization that had taken real form and had real leadership and direction. And then they formed an assassination squad to go to Denver.

Daniel Levitas, Writer: Alan Berg was shot to death in the driveway of his home. It was essentially domestic terrorism. It was born and bred Americans inspired by racism, anti-semitism, and anti-government ideology.

Wayne Manis, FBI Investigator: And then it was like firecrackers, just pop pop pop pop, going off everywhere, was the cooking off of the rounds. At daybreak I walked up to the remains of the house and saw his charred body there.

Wayne Manis, FBI Investigator: The FBI was on high alert. I mean, domestic terrorism was now--was top order. And there was a massive amount of investigation and arrests throughout the United States.

Jess Walter, Writer: The Weavers were deeply religious and they wanted to live in a style they believed was Old Testament Christian. They were really imagining this fortress, this place where they could really separate themselves from a corrupt and dangerous world.

Archival Sot: Richard Butler, Aryan Nations Founder: A movement is growing all over the world. Good men are coming forth. Men with iron wills. Who are determined that our race is not gonna die and become extinct.

Bill Morlin, Journalist: By the time Randy Weaver started showing up at the Aryan Nations, it was just after the whole Matthews episode. And, unfortunately for Randy Weaver, the Feds were listening.

Daniel Levitas, Writer: They had lots of events there designed to potentially recruit harder-core folks into the compound, and it was at one of those meetings that Randy Weaver was spotted by an undercover federal informant.

Bill Morlin, Journalist: This guy got next to Randy Weaver and learned that he was clearly a racist. That he wanted to live his white separatist lifestyle in North Idaho, but that he was having trouble putting two nickels together and that he was interested in some income, and one thing led to another, and pretty soon, Randy Weaver agrees to saw off some shotguns.
