Hello, is there anybody still out there???????
Bentley school is organising a fundraiser for a building programme....proposed bike ride April 23 rd from Brighton to Bentley.....see details of route below....

"Thank you very much for registering your interest for the 'The Big Cycle', the Brighton to Bentley cycle ride to be held Saturday 23rd April 2016 in aid of the Big Building Project.

The ride will commence at Brighton pier, follow the coastal cycle link to Shoreham, then follow the Downs link path up through Southwater Country Park (nr Horsham) towards Godalming/Guildford, we will then cut cross country to Bentley - in all circa 55 - 60 miles.

We would intend to start around 8.30am - 9.00am from Brighton meaning leaving Bentley around 6.30am. We have transport down to Brighton but need volunteers to drive the school mini-buses/support vehicles - please spread the word and let me know if there are any takers."

I haven't looked in detail at the route so don't know what it's like but I would imagine very varied terrain....but interesting, I know some of it is along an old railway track.

I thought it might be a be an opportunity to get together again.... a ride with a purpose!
The fly in the ointment is minimum £50 sponsorship......but those issues have always been the fly in the ointment with our more exciting rides!
So the question is....can 'The Army' regroup and stage a new offensive? As a governor of Bentley School I have signed up of course....but you might like to think about it too? (for those army veterans who remember the old days - you can relax in the knowledge that I will not be map reading) Let me know and I can forward whatever details are available.
Best wishes all,
 DAI

But appreciate will have to start over on the fitness level!!

but it will be uphill all the way!

Seriously though, I won’t be able to do. Rather early in the season for the chance to get fit enough, don’t know how you retired people manage are so fit!
