to BROKE allies, BROKE
Dear BROKE folk and allies,

If you haven’t already, I invite you to sign this parliamentary petition on behalf of Zain Haq. I’ve known Zain for about 5 years, through our shared involvement in climate activism. And I’ve gotten to know his wife Sophie more recently through Zain. I was privileged to celebrate their wedding with them a couple years ago.

Zain and I have both engaged in non-violent civil disobedience, been arrested, and done jail time, along with 100’s of other people, for resisting the TMX pipeline. It is unfair that Zain has been singled out and punished in this way, and that Zain and Sophie have been forcibly separated, because of Zain’s non-violent climate activism. It seems un-called for, and I have witnessed the devastating effect this is having on both of them. Zain is honestly one of the gentlest, most peaceful people I have ever met, and I believe his deportation for peaceful climate activism was wrong, and does not reflect the values that I hold as a Canadian and that most Canadians stand for.

I hope you will join me in signing the petition to bring Zain home.

Thanks,
Ruth

📣 Zain was deported from Canada January 2025 for nonviolent climate activism... which means I, as his spouse, am forced to choose between my husband and my home, Canada. 🤔😰

We only need 140 more signatures to get to 3,000! 💪

Please Sign and Share <3
