Participate in the City Nature Challenge

Help scientists, get outdoors and practice your photography during the City Nature Challenge, an annual challenge to observe and record Burnaby's biodiversity. Between April 24 and 27, record as many wild plants and animals as possible throughout Metro Vancouver on land, in the air and in our marine environments.

Get started by joining us for a guided walk where you can learn how to record your finds in one of our beautiful natural areas.

Free electronics recycling and data shredding

Safely dispose of your personal computers, laptops, hard drives and more on Friday, March 27. The Electronic Recycling Association will be at the Eco-Centre between 11 am and 3 pm to assist in recycling and donating electronics while offering free data shredding services. Everyone is welcome.

Help protect and restore Burnaby's parks

We’re looking for volunteers to help remove invasive species and plant native trees at Central, Burnaby Mountain, and Deer Lake parks. You’ll get to enjoy exercise and fresh air, make new friends, and help our ecosystems at the same time.

No experience is necessary. Events are led by experts at the Invasive Species Council of Metro Vancouver (ISCMV), who will provide instruction, gloves, tools and refreshments.
