OB this Saturday

Hi all

 

I’m just thinking ahead to Saturday.

 

Last week We were a little short handed.  Mike S had to duck out due to a family crisis, leaving just myself Mark C, Pete and Colin H.

 

Of course, life being life, we had 10 or 11 of the little darlings, followed by the T15 duo.

 

Given little wind, we managed with Mark C giving simulator and on-water lessons to the absolute beginners and engaging the rest in the fine sport of Rio Supping and dog relay races.  Many smiles were had.  Mark also took T15.

 

Looking at the Availability chart for this Saturday shows  me, Mike S, Simon R, Pete and Colin as available.  I’m not sure of Mikes current position, he may be otherwise occupied.

 

So, Mike may or may not be in a position to respond to this, so unless we hear we might be best to assume he is still unavailable and plan for another Instructor to be involved.  Alex is currently windmill spotting so probably isn’t in a position to make alternate arrangements.... and it’s quite possible that plans are already afoot between the instructor brethren...

 

Thinking out loud.. Simon is shown as a yes, Pam n’ Tigger are not currently shown as anything...  Some wind (11mph) is expected...  Unless I’m missing something (I often do) we need someone to put together a session plan for OB and someone to take T15.

 

If I’m covering ground already covered... sorry (I did last time!)  but I’d hate us to get more than a dozen and be unprepared.

 

Mike, apologies but I’m not sure of what the outcome was last week, with only snippets from Pauline.  I hope things improved.

Yes, i plan to be there Sat am. just let me know if i need to prepare any thing in advance...

 

I am now a dab hand at self recovery if that needs to be taught? having had to wade/swim/push a silly low volume board hundreds of metres through waves/swell at the back end of the NWFon Sunday i can vouch for the difficulty in doing so and the need to be prepared for the unexpected. I can also teach the need to avoid very shallow water when blasting and jumping at speed over white water!!!  an expensive mistake with full carbon mast and boom shattered in the process...ouch! luckily only a pocket pain!

Hi folks, I have been talking to Tohatsu (and their local dealer) about the bent prop shaft. The good news is that we should be able to get it fixed within the next week, That bad news is that we have been advised not to use the engine until it is fixed as we could make it very poorly indeed. (We might have already). So we are down to the orange boat alone on Saturday.
