RE: Saturday 14th August - Weather

Annette,

Now we face our greatest challenge - what to do on a rainy day.

Off the top of my head we can do some of the following:

1. Knots - rope is in the OnBoard box.
2. Show them some of the Jem Hall video for bits relevant to them and discuss how it compares with what they do and where they are going. I have a copy of this.
3. Show some freestyle and waves footage - I have some old CDs somewhere, and may be able t.
4. Use Alex's stage 1/2 quiz on them. I think it is in the yellow folder.
5. Do charades on the seven common senses (someone mentioned this very recently)
6. Cover some of the stage 3 sailing background from the Youth scheme syllabus.
7. Teach them how to use the radios.

So, please turn up and we'll work it out. I will be out from about 5pm today until fairly late, but will see what I can collect together.

Firstly apologies to anyone who gets this email twice because I’ve sent it to everyone including the brogadoons, but I’m sending this from work and wanted to get it out.

Secondly – Mike I will update the weekly sheet when I get home – I don’t seem to have saved the link here at work.

 

1                     I’ve attached the Agenda for Saturday’s meeting and have received very few items for the Agenda so I’ve taken suggestions from Barry, Mike and created other items for discussion – if you don’t like the way they are worded or you want them amending – let me know and I will create a final version for Saturday morning.

2                     The Plan for Saturday is attached – we are not at this stage sure who is available or needed, but if you plan on coming to the meeting maybe you could update the weekly sheet so we know who to expect.  If I’m going to be onshore, Mike will be teaching and we need someone in the boat – which should be Mark or John – I believe we need another instructor.  We did receive an email from Simon saying he was available.

3                     Team 15 – I have not drafted anything for Team 15 – I have my own ideas, but whoever takes it will no doubt have their own.  If Annette can’t cover it we can decide on the day.

Sorry if I appeared to step on anyone's toes. As T15 on Saturday was not cancelled, I was just trying to provide some ideas for a rainy day.

For future reference there is a list of email addresses for the parents of each child. Perhaps we need to create a mailing list that contains it, so that we have an easy way to contact them. This can be discussed at he meeting.
