Annette, John,

Tony asked me to attend this RYA T15 function on Wednesday 23rd Feb. The venue and time in the evening is not yet known. If you also wish or intend to be there, please contact Gillian Wright directly. I am off to Lanzarote tomorrow and will have limited email access.

Our input is the Annual Return and Plan that I sent in or around early September - see attachment. It was circulated at the time, and posted on the Brogadoons Google group. In particular read the Additional Comments box at the bottom. I think it shows our agreed position as we would wish to represent it to the RYA.

If we can hold our internal meeting before 23rd Feb, then a refreshed view can be given at the meeting.

Mike Sapsard

PS I understand from Tony that we passed the AALA certification on Wednesday. This will create the opportunity to generate some additional club income, and the profile, by running some mid-week sailing for local youth organisations and schools, albeit probably only with the available instructors such as John, Graham and myself.

Importance: High

Hi guys…

With this year being the 10th birthday of Team15, we really want to help your club develop to its full potential.

With this in mind the RYA Development team would like to meet with all  the T15 clubs in your zone at a single meeting, to explore development areas and to gain your feedback on any issues that your Team15 club may be facing.

This meeting will provide a great opportunity for all Team15 clubs, and we would urge you to make the effort to attend.

We’d really like to see a full-house of clubs in attendance, to make the meeting as productive as possible.

In attendance from the RYA will be:

·         Gillian Wright – RYA Team15 Manager

·         Sarah Cartwright – T15 Inter-Club Coordinator for 2011 (not in attendance at East & South East)

·         Your Team15 Competition Organiser (T15 CO)

·         Your RYA Regional Development Officer (RDO)

·         Your RYA High Performance Manager (HPM)

Areas for discussion

With the above people in attendance we can look at a range of areas relevant to Team15 clubs and try and find solutions as a group.

For the first time we will have all the key people in the same place at the same time, to allow us to explore club development, with OnBoard as a feed, through to Team15 club level activity, inter-club event participation, into Volvo Champion Club status and Zone Championships/Squads.

We can also look at activity for post T15 sailors (at club level and beyond), look at funding opportunities, volunteering within Team15, and also how we can encourage parents on to the water as regular windsurfing participants themselves.

At the meeting we will also provide your club with a free pack of Team15 promotional goods for the season.

Team15 clubs vary in shape and size, so bringing you all together will allow us to learn from other clubs and identify areas of good practice.

We would like to see new clubs attending as well as those who have been established for a few years; those clubs who have attended inter-club events as well as those who haven’t.

Feedback sheets

We intend to use the T15 feedback sheets that you have provided over the last two years, as a starting point for the outline agenda, and tailor to zone needs.

If you haven’t submitted a feedback sheet for the 2010 season yet, please request one from Ben Reid when you reply to this invitation.

Date & venue

The meeting will take place mid-week and in the evening, to allow for maximum attendance.

The venue is still to be decided and will be confirmed once we have heard back from Team15 clubs within your zone.

Please see the attached document for the meeting date within your zone.

RSVP

Please confirm you attendance by return, to ben....@rya.org.uk

If you would like to bring a couple of people from your club, to discuss ideas fully, then we would be happy to have you there.

Please indicate on your return email:

·         Which Team15 club you are from

·         Which T15 zone you are in

·         Your name(s)

·         Your contact email address(es) to which we can send further information about the meeting

·         Whether you require a 2010 feedback sheet for your club

A piece of cake!

We’d like you to join us at the meeting to enjoy a slice of Team15 birthday cake; the same cake we intend to supply to your club during the season to help with your Team15 10th birthday party celebrations – celebrations which we intend to discuss at the meeting.

I really do hope you will make the effort to join us, to benefit from a truly productive evening.

We look forward to hearing from you in the very near future.

Kind regards
Gillian

Please note that I will be in meetings for the duration of the week 24-28 January and  on annual leave for the two weeks following (29 January-13 February).
