I have been to this a couple of times and it was interesting, in that many background reasons for certain stances by the RYA were given, with lots of safety issues covered. The afternoon was on the water. It also helped open the route to several of us getting our senior instructors tickets. I have not yet made up my mind about going this year.

Emma, Sam,

Last year, i bought a huge number of RYA booklets for Tony because of the discount. They were delivered by post, free of charge. If anyone goes this year, I suggest you ask them to do the same. It may be prudent to do a stock-take on the RYA booklets first.

Dear All,

I hope you are having an enjoyable Winter, spring is fast approaching and with it the Eastern Region Instructor’s Training Day (formerly conference).

This year sees us building on previous success with an action packed day in store. There are a variety of shore based workshops for you to attend followed by an afternoon of practical activity all of which are designed to help develop your instructing or personal skills. You will have the opportunity to meet with RYA staff and learn about the latest developments form RYA HQ as well as what’s going on in the Eastern Region, perhaps most importantly you will get a chance to meet other instructors and share ideas and knowledge.

We are holding the event at Grafham Water Centre on the 11th March. The whole day only costs £10 and includes lunch! Even better for under 21’s who only have to pay £5.

Those who attend can purchase RYA publications at a massive 45% discount off retail prices…so if you want the odd book or to buy your Training Centres years supply you  can make huge savings!

Booking is open online now, you can view the agenda and all information on the site.

Book now to avoid disappointment! http://www.sailracer.org/events/event-v2.asp?eventid=108200

Regards

Robbie
