I collect blu rays and DVDs but i also like to rip and encode them for use on Kodi. for Blu Rays i use DVD Fab to rip them to my computer. I have both version 8 and 9 installed. 8 seems to still be able to handle most discs but occasionally it can't and i will have to use 9. However when the trial for 9 runs out i can't copy blu rays anymore. Both versions state that once the free trial is up you can use the HD decrypter to make direct copies (which is all i need it for). this works as advertised on 8. It says your trial is expired you will now use hd decrypter and i can rip it to the drive. On 9 as soon as i try to load the blu ray disc it tells me that i need to purchase the blu ray copy feature. Their website is unclear if this is thay its supposed to work or not. does free HD Decrypter mean it can decrypt the disc but you still have to purchase the software to copy it? (making it useless) or am i missing something here. I can't really find a straight forward on forums or anything. The last disc i tried loaded fine in 8 but i get the error in 9 so im not sure this issue would be the disc being too new for the "free" version.
I looked at the code and don't see how this is possible. However, the decrypter only reads the config file when it starts up so restart it to make sure. Also, my daughter keeps her sims dvd in all the time and my ConsoleDecrypter never disturbs it.
