My wife just bought a new iPhone 13 a week ago, ringtone is hard to hear even ringtone sound and haptics is set to the loudest setting. Notification sounds r louder than ringtone. Why? Is the iPhone defective or just a software issue?

Ever since a very recent update, my Galaxy Buds ring is the generic ring, like a telephone. Before the update, the ringtone (as in the custom song/ringtone) would come through the Earbuds, Galaxy Buds. does anyone know why this is happening, and how to fix this.

So sorry for the delayed response. I feel like I misstated my goal. So you heave Buds in ear, paired and connected to the phone. Someone calls you. Currently, the rigtone goes through both the buds and the phone itself. The goal was to make it where the rington goes to the earbuds only and the phone itself doesn't make a sounds, so as not to disturb others if ringtone is loud (idk, it's for my dad and he can't hear all that well, so his ringer is on high).
Figured out solution: Mute phone. Ringtone will still go through buds.
Sorry for my confusion.

Currently when I get a call, I hear the ringtone/text-tone/email-tone/whatever through both the ear buds and the phone speakers simultaneously. I'm not referring to any sort of text to speech, just the song/chimes. Id like to make it where it does not come out of the phone speakers, but just the Galaxy Buds. I'm not trying to dismiss your comment. I appreciate your time and input. I just want to make sure my goal is clear.

TL/DR: If you need a loud ringtone or alarm use this one I created ringtone/alarm. it is based on the frequencies fire alarms use(520Hz and 3100Hz square waves). So far its worked pretty well.

I had been having a hard time hearing my cellphone ring or its alarm in the morning when waking me up/getting a phone call. Because of that I decided to find a ringtone that would be the loudest one possible and would also be very alerting. Unfortunately after searching the internet I was unable to find such ringtone the closest I was able to find were of sirens or alarms. That got me thinking, there has to be a reason fire alarms sound so annoying and loud, after all they are made to get your attention quick, so after doing some research mainly this paper which suggests a lower frequency of 520Hz is better at waking someone up vs the high pitched 3100Hz among other things.

export with 0db gain, +3 db gain, +6 +9 +12 db gain.

The mobile phone has only one speaker for ringtone, so mono.
Additionally I can assume the speaker is not the best, so the equalizer.
Sometimes the music is faint so I add a gain. Then I choose the gain which sounds best.

For example, when I'm in my car with the music blaring super loud, I still want to be able to hear it. And afterwards when I am at school and it is super quiet, and my phones ringer is still on, I don't want some super loud ringtone to bring a bunch of attention to me.

At school, on the other hand, there are neither no need nor desire for breaking through anything, so here we need a very different approach. Here, pink noise is technically speaking a very good choice, but it can also be a wee bit too anonymous if you're unlucky. The keyword here is having an as flat and wide a range as possible, and if you make a ringtone from a song, it's not a bad idea to lower the rage between 1-3 KHz somewhat to make it less distracting. Most phones don't go below like 250-300Hz, but lower frequencies are good for keeping thing softer, so raising the lower end is also a good idea. It might get a bit muddier as you can't reach the really good stuff, but it will also be less distracting. Just don't overdo it.

Usually, most of the sound in an audio file is below the maximum volume that can be produced. For example, the chorus of a song should be louder than the verses, so the sound of the rest of the audio track has to be decreased in comparison.

As earlier mentioned, sound above a certain level can be dangerous, which is why your device has a limit to the volume of the audio it can produce. This means that if one part of a song is louder than the rest, the volume of the whole track will be measured by the loudest section.

What a volume-boosting app does is raise the volume of the rest of the audio file to the same point as the loudest part. The track overall feels louder, without the device actually increasing the amount of sound it can produce.
