Broadside Bash Updates

Hi all,

The Broadside Bash is coming up quick here. First weekend in April at KingdomCon in San Diego. 

We have lots of updates posted to our website and Facebook pages. 

Awards are looking really sweet!

Army lists are due by March 31st. Bonus 2 points to your overall score for turning in the list early. 

We are ordering Tshirts, so if you would like to get one (or more) please let me know ASAP.

If you have not already registered, please do so. 

Any questions just ask :)

As a policy we actually never post the players or thier army choices a head of time. 

Though we'll usually post the count of armies a week or so ahead of time.

I know this is a little last minute, but can I change my army choice from Chaos Dwarves to Warriors of Chaos?  There some interesting elements in the new army book that I want to try out.  Let me know if it's ok.

Hi Kurt

I attached my list in Army builder.  It doesn't include a FW hero that I'm using so I included it as an apendix.  Just in case, the additional hero is Kazzyk the Befouled (190) along with the Rot Beast upgrade for my 6 Chaos Knights (15 ea.), for a total of 280.  Added to the Army Builder List I attached, it comes out to 2500 even.  Thanks.

Hi Bryan,

I think that we approved this character, but generally we have specifically dis-approved anything from this book other than the Chaos Dwarf list.  Please make sure that you have the book with you at the tournament, and you need to announce to your opponents all the details of those 2 units before the game starts, because it isn’t fair to expect everyone to know what is in that book.

If you want to change your list because of this, you are welcome to do so and will not lose the 2 bonus points.

I think that these units are just upgrades available from the character.

The upgrade to standard chaos knights can be taken if you take the character.  It turns chaos knights with the Mark of Nurgle into MC with 5 up regen for 15 points each.  I will have the Tamurkhan book with me and will photocopy the applicable pages for my oponents.  Let me know if that's ok.

So what are the upgrades I was ok with the character stats but not special rules he gives units if so I would say no to the character or he can have the character but not the benefits to the units we can not allow stuff that we said no to it will cause way to many problems what if he wins something we will ruin our rep

The character is called Kazyyk the Befouled.  On his own, he is nothing special, but he allows you to upgrade a unit of knights that have the Mark of Nurgle.  For 15 extra points, they become MC, get a 5+ Regen, their mounts gain poisoned attack, they have 2 wounds (this comes from the fact that their mounts are now Rot Beasts with a different profile than the normal CK warhorse).  They do, however, lose barding so their armor save is 2+ instead of the normal 1+.  I have modelled them on 50 x 50 bases to reflect the upgrade.  Essentially, they become 60 point monstrous cavalry with only 2 wounds instead of 3. 

 

Let me know if I can use the list.  The rules never specifically said that he would be banned (only the dogs of war were mentioned by name) but when I read back through it, I can see that it was implied when you said you were allowing Chaos Dwarfs.  Just let me know for sure one way or the other, as, at the moment, I keep getting mixed messages.  If it is not allowed, I'll go ahead and send you my Chaos Dwarf list tommorrow.  Thanks.

Sorry Bryan, and everyone...we let you see a bit of how the sausage was made.  We approved Bryan's request, without giving it due thought.  We still think that it will not be such a big deal.

Bryan, you are free to run this list as approved, or switch your Chaos Dwarves.  Either way is fine.  You will still get the points for early list submission.

We'll clarify this further for next year.
