The SSA Jr Program is going to run a fundraiser this year close to summer. It has been very successful in years past. If any parents are keen to help organize it, please contact Jr Program Chair Keith Carew - Ke...@carews.com

Contact Person for Spring Questions 

As most of you know, I'm off skiing next week for two months. I really enjoyed coaching everyone and hope you all enjoy the spring season. SSA is currently finalizing who will be the new Jr Director. For the next several weeks while this occurs, Jessica Bennett will be the contact person. She will have my old cell (410-263-0071) and email (sai...@severnsailing.org). If there's any questions, feel free to ask her. For the next couple of days, fire your questions away at me.  

Junior Club Membership

All SSA High School sailors need to be either a child of an SSA Member or a Jr Club Member for High School Sailing from now on. This is to allow SSA to remain a non-for -profit organisation. 

SSA Members will pay $600 and Jr Club Members will be $580. Pay via check to receive $5 off (i.e. write the check out for $595 or $575) if you don't want to pay the CC fees which occur when paying online via CC. 

Here some more info about the Jr Club Membership 

For sailors 6 - 18 who aren’t SSA Members (or children of SSA Members) and would like to participate in the SSA Junior Program. Needed for SSA to remain as non-for-profit organization.

The $40 annual membership Includes: weekly and monthly email newsletters from SSA, an SSA 32oz Nalgene Water Bottle, and two 420 boat rentals for TESODS. 

A SSA coach will collect the TESOD pass, supervise the rigging process and be a safety boat out on the water.

Spring Break

Broadneck and South River will have Spring Break practice from the 10th - 14th

Key and Spalding will have Spring Break practice from the 17th - 21st 

Normal practice will occur as well

Spring Coaches

I'm finalizing these at the moment - there's some excellent coaches who I'm in discussions with. One of these will be announced at the end of the week and the other will be announced in the next week or two. I will continue to finalize these coaches while I'm away skiing so that the SSA program has excellent HS coaching for the Spring.
